That’s what happens when you hired line 5 assistant GMs. When times get tough. The superfluous ones are the first to get sent packing. Wonder why Bendix needed so many assistants. Probably to make reports for him so he could sit back and enjoy the games. So basically the same as a GM in almost every company.. have your middle management do all the actual management work and you collect the big paychecks.

Imagine if sometime within the next 5 years we read a headline that says like “group led by David Samson in talks to acquire the Marlins.” 😂

Ok that's too far. This is normal for a new GM.

He at least kept them on for a transitional period. Could have cleaned house immediately.

He wanted to and was always the plan but since they just made the playoffs he had to pretend like they were trying this year

Let's hope Sherman doesnt get too gun shy and change the plan again in another 2 years or so.

Hard to build anything when you fucking change the path of your front office very 2-3 years.

Then again Bendix will allow Sherman to do what he loves most (which is make stupid profits), so he may stick around for a while.

Babe Kepler is safe tho

Reportedly he's going to stay as an AGM next year, but I'm not buying it....

Eh, I think this was the plan all along, but these guys know the system better, so he kept them on while evaluating the system this year....and then determined they indeed weren't needed and/or didn't fit his philosophy.

These are 100% the kinds of changes they should be making. The organization is crap from top to bottom. That’s why good players come here and underperform, and players they develop here that never really played to their potential actually put it together when they leave.

And on a completely different note, bring in the damn fences to citizens bank levels and start getting some offense in. You’re building around pitching but you can’t win if your own damn team can’t pop a 3 run jack here and again.

Not quite that extreme. But do bring left-center and left in a little bit. They've only ever adjusted center and right-center.

Nah man, I’d say bring it in to the point that’s it TOO MUCH, then adjust it back from there but they need to drastically change the fences to get it to the point where the offense actually starts improving from it. It’s not just deep fences, the ball absolutely does not carry in that stadium when the roof is closed. So those two things put together with these Otto Lopez, Emmanuel Rivera, Brujan type guys that they love to put on the roster every year is just a terrible recipe

Media always portrays these things like the worst thing ever but nothing wrong with a new GM restructuring their staff.

It's way too often for the Marlins but nothing wrong with this.

Because it's the Marlins doing yet another round of changes, so it becomes the easy punching bag....

Or.....they could sign /draft players that hit lots of doubles and such to play to the park?

I've never understood why they've not done that.
