  1. Spare me-when I see athletes from our teams in public anywhere, I leave them alone and mostly they appreciate it.
  2. Don't forget Prado
  3. Based on where we are at this point in time, it is better than it could have been. Naylor, Cosart and Capps were gone the other day and they still are gone. So we are no worse off for the rental of Cashner. But now, at least we did not lose a top prospect whose upside in just a few years may be much better than Rea, who is likely lost until 2018 with no assurance of what he will be. We are playing for now, and next year. Castillo in 2018 and in the future may well be better than Rea. And of course the Padres will now say they never wanted to trade Rea.
  4. It's being called on mlb radio,"trading " Rea back. Don't know for what.
  5. This just sets up getting rid of Jose next year, letting Stanton agree to a trade and saying it is necessary to re-stock the farm due to the failed playoff run in 2016 when Cashner and Rea stunk up the joint.
  6. NO, not serious at all.
  7. While we believe the team is being cheap, let's not forget how costly it is to move the fences. A move like that comes with consequences elsewhere and thus, Edwin Jackson is our big signing so far.
  8. If my memory is correct, Joe Angel never did the TV side. Joe was replaced by Dave O'Brien on the radio.
  9. I have to compare: Jennings vs Fredi-here is Fredi's comments yesterday after losing to the Nats in extras. Sure brings back memories. It is an achievement that they did not walk anyone. Great. "I like everything about the ballgame except the ending," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "We didn't walk anybody (in the 10th). They got three hits to beat us. We fought back."
  10. Can't beat the those big hearted guys. Very sensitive and caring.
  11. My only thought on the "prominent player" is too damn bad, you have to fly charter and whine. How about whining about the team record, the lack of success with hits with RISP, with two outs and RISP etc etc. I guess it would have turned around if you had more leg room. I do not want to hear these players whine. This is not the movie-the jets they fly are just fine and if they ever get their own, great.
  12. Erik Cordier, former defensemen for the Montreal Canadians, Loria kept tabs on him. OK maybe not. This truly has been a baseball nightmare season for us.
  13. I voted yes, and my reason is, I'm an asshole
  14. This is like that old and I mean old, game show, "What's My Line", where there was a celebrity contestant and the blindfolded panel would ask questions trying to guess who it was. Anyway, if there is someone they are talking to, regardless of this lost season, if we could hire him now it would add a little interest and add some positive feelings to the bench. DJ would go back upstairs. Yea, I understand that the new guy would probably just want to wait out the season to bring in his own coaches, so in that regard why develop any relationships with the current crew, but this season is such a loser that with two months to go I want more at this point than how well Chris Narveson can pitch.
  15. Thanks for reminding me. I hated Redmond that night for treating Jose like a petulant child and making him get out there in the interview and beg forgiveness. Much worse than what DJ did. Jose had to put up with the jerk Chris (I had one career year) Johnson (who rushed the plate to hide behind McCann) and then the judge and keeper of the unwritten rules McCann. F them, glad Red got canned now that I remember that incident.
  16. Definite jerk as is Hale, making an issue of Capp's. Reminds me of a golfer who hits 4 greens in a row within 10 feet and makes all the birdie putts. Then on the next hole, yanks his drive out of bounds. Would Brenly say, "he has been spot on, so he must have hit that out of bounds on purpose". A..hole..
  17. Remember back some years ago (maybe the 80's), Yea I could look it up, when the Cubs did not even have managers but used bench coaches making decisions.
  18. The real problem is that there is no FIRE in this clubhouse. Right? Wasn't that the problem?Whose got a match?

Can we assume that whatever Loria saves now, it is for his pocket, because what happens in a few years will not be his concern-like he will sell the franchise and let the next shmoe deal with it.
  20. Someone did, I was just joking.
  21. With such speculation, someone should start a thread asking what it will take to stop being a Marlin fan.
  22. Can we now go and get a real manager? C'mon, it would not be embarrassing. What could be more embarrassing than this team today or Loria wearing the same striped shirt since 2002.
  23. But at least we get half price pizza, right? It applies even in a loss?
  24. I only said it because some posters were expressing their concern as to how Stanton will feel about it.
  25. All rumors are accepted
