Dontrelle on Boog show
Really awesome conversation with Boog and the D-Train...some of the highlights: -Says the team is really confident right now, they don't get scared about playing on the road in big games, the guys who were around in 2003 can taste the playoffs. In terms of his own 2003 season, Boog asked if he got tired down the stretch and he said, "I didn't get tired, I just got sorry." :lol -Is a big Carpenter fan and thinks that he'll win the Cy...he's just amazed that people are talking about him in the race and never imagined having this kind of season. -The season is really moving quickly now, he threw a bullpen yesterday and almost forgot it was his day to throw. He said he really loves every aspect of the game, (cause Boog asked if he really loves to hit, because it seems that way), but he said now he needs to "love to bunt." :lol -On AJ (he was asked if he puts too much pressure on himself): Coming into the year, all of the Big 3 pitchers wanted to shoulder a lot of the burden for this team and want to pitch in big games, so they expected and wanted this type of pressure...he just had one bad inning last night and was going up against a Hall of Famer, and that's what cost him. -Boog talked about Dontrelle being the 13th African-American pitcher to win 20 games and he said it's really an honor, and hopes that maybe some people who weren't interested in baseball before can start to get into the game. He also said it's great for this community to be the first Marlins pitcher to have 20 wins. -He said that he is getting recognized around town a lot now but everyone wants to talk about his hitting more than his pitching, "Everyone says they expected me to pitch well but they're all impressed with how I handle the bat."

Miguel Cabrera in 2003
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlbhist/players/...=7163&year=2003 Through 83 at bats he was hitting .217 946915 Thanks.. So we just have to get Hermi some playing time to see what he is made of *not saying he is going to be like Miggy* 946916 He'll play plenty next season.

One Game to Win Poll
Beckett, because he's done it before. Though I can't say I'd feel too bad about "having" to put Willis out there, with the way he's pitched this season...wow.

A Bird in the Hand...
I can't root for any of these teams...but I'll just say that I'm still hoping the Braves lose. We're not out of the division race quite yet.

Rocket to Miss Tonight's Start?
I hope he pitches a perfect game 945065 and I hope we score 10 runs in the first inning :thumbup 945070 Me too....my heart goes out to him off the field but i hope we rip him apart on the field 945074 Couldn't have put it better myself. I feel really badly for Roger Clemens the person...but that doesn't mean I don't want the Fish to do well against Roger Clemens the pitcher.

Is AJ Burnett really worth 12-15 million per year?
Yankee's will pay. That's why their GM's name is "Cash"man. 944839 No they won't Odds are a team like Detroit or Toronto will give him big money 944849 Yup, I agree...well, at least they'll give him the best offer. And in terms of being worth $12-15? He won't get that much. If he pitches like the AJ of July and August, mixing in his sinker, curve, and change, he'll definitely be worth whatever money he gets.

AJ Knows What Tonight Means
It sounds like he's at least in the right mindset for tonight in realizing he can't just try to blow his fastball by everyone.

Need all you guys advice
I love how no one who has been in a fraternity before has answered this question yet. 942080 I'm in one and it's a great experience. Granted, it may be totally different at FIU, I don't know the scene. But if you find the right group that fits you...I'd highly recommend it.

Playoff Tiebreakers Announced
If there is going to be a tie, it's most likely going to be between us and Houston, so we got the only homefield that really matters, in my opinon. 942085 That's exactly what I was thinking...hopefully we'll just win it, but the toss for the most likely tie went in our favor.

Tonight's Lineup

Marlin Superstitions
My sister always says, "Here's an out" whenever one of the B-Team steps to the plate (most notably Treanor)...and it certainly seems like Treanor's hitting about .350 in those at-bats.

Delgado donates $50,000 to hurricane relief
His charity is donating $25,000 and Delgado is also making a personal donation of $25,000. Slugger Carlos Delgado has hooked up with the Red Cross chapter in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to lend a helping hand for Hurricane Katrina victims. The slugger's charity, Extra Bases Inc., is donating $25,000 to those affected by the devastating storm. In addition, Delgado is making a personal $25,000 contribution. 939807 That's really awesome to hear. Carlos :notworthy

Coolstandings gives us 16.6% chance to win WC
I am going to go out on a limb and say that at the end of the season, we'll have either a 0% or a 100% chance to win the wild card. Just a guess. :mischief

Louie at leadoff
Also, I hope Castillo can have some type of surgery in the offseason to finally recover. He looks painful trying to run. I'd be scared of having him as our leadoff hitter for the entire year next year if he still can't run. 936082 It's not so much that he can't lead off, because he's certainly done well enough leading off without being nearly as fast as "classic Luis Castillo" over the past few days. But without JP in the lineup, we really are missing that speed dimension to the offense, which I think is important to put pressure on the defense, even if not out of the leadoff hitter. Also, why would we necessarily try to deal JP in the offseason anyway? He's signed through next year, why not at least talk to him and see what kind of money he's after? If it's too much, there's always the deadline.

Louie at leadoff
No matter who bats second, putting Luis in the leadoff spot and JP 7th has helped both players and it's the biggest reason why the current lineup has sparked the offense. And yes, Luis = OBP machine.
