  1. Great comeback by Moe. Let's go Fish!
  2. Why is everyone so down on Borchard? Because he is a career .194 hitter maybe? Not disputing that. He may very well fade and be crap towards the latter part of the year. But the fact is that in a couple of weeks he's done much more than Aguila who has had all year. Borchard has launched some bombs and has had some great hits. I don't care about past stats, if he's playing well he's playing well.
  3. Why is everyone so down on Borchard? Sure, he's not the next Cabrera, but damn he's had some big hits for us. He's a great fourth outfielder, and in his limited time with us he's shown us much more than Aguila has all season. He has more pop, which means he's perfect to start 1-2 times a week or come off the bench. Borchard > Aguila.
  4. Wellemeyer is out of options so I doubt it will be him, we need him for depth, otherwise we'll lose him forever. I doubt Herges would accept a demotion either. It may end up being Petit just because we'll want to keep Herges and Wellemeyer for depth.
  5. Notes: Marlins OF Chris Aguila was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=260526128&prov=ap
  6. :lol That's the funniest thing I've ever read.
  7. Yeah, great post, now is the time to start trying. The first two months we've just lulled everyone into a false sense of security. :plain
  8. Totally agree with what you said, it's not his fault everyone has blown a game. I think we only have one solution left: Herges for closer. :plain
  9. When I first clicked on this thread I thought it was about us, the fans, needing psychologists from all the trauma we've suffered...
  10. I dare anyone to bid on it and have him suffer by making him become a D-Rays fan! :mischief
  11. The Marlins, as a TEAM, have only hit 7 home runs more than Pujols. :plain
  12. Tomorrow night the Blue Jays are hosting the Red Sox and it's gonna be Burnett vs. Beckett in the first match-up of our former two aces. I have no animosity towards either player, but in saying that I hope Burnett gets lit up and Beckett continues on his hot streak and goes to 4-0.
  13. The Royals are the worst, easily. Their management has no idea. They are rebuilding, but to do that, you need to go young. Why did they buy Sanders and Grudzie for a hefty price when they're gonna suck anyway? Put in the youngsters and give them experience. They have no idea how to bring through the youngsters. Their farm system is non-existant, besides DeJesus and Grienke they haven't had any good prospects for a couple of years. I couldn't even name a few of their minor league prospects now, but I could for every other team. The D-Rays may have sucked, but in a few years they'll be really good, as much as us Marlins fans may hate to admit. They have some sick hitters coming through. Their pitching is still obviously a question though. In comparison to both of the aforementioned franchises, it's great to sit back and think how we're in such a better position than either of them. We may suck for the next year or so, but we'll have such a bright future with the way we've stockpiled prospects, especially pitching. Building from the bottom up with pitching is the way to build a franchise, without question. For a hypothetical: the Yankees look old. If they were to trade away all of their stars save a few like A-Rod and Jeter, they would get some amazing prospects back. Imagine what you could get for guys like Johnson, Rivera, Giambi, Sheff, etc. Sure, they'd be on a losing streak for a few years (which is exactly why they'd never do it) but in the long run they'd dominate just like they did the mid-late 90's. It's a proven theory.
  14. Damn. Just... damn.
  15. Shame he didn't get arrested earlier for being the worst GM in the league...
  16. Zito's curveball... at times. Some days it looks crap and gets hit everywhere. Other days he has that thing go into the earth's atmosphere and come down perfectly... it's filthy.
  17. No words can describe how much of a moron that journo is.
  18. What if it's a rain delay? Ignore the fact we're playing in Minute Maid...
  19. Our fans, Who art in Florida, Dontrelle be thy name, His shutout will come, Thy will be done, Like Minute Maid, As done in Dolphins Stadium. ... I've got nothin'.
  20. Hit - Hermida Double - Jacobs Triple - Ramirez HR - Cabrera RBI - Jacobs Run Scored - Hermida Stolen Base - Hermida Caught Stealing - Ramirez Error - Uggla Win - Nolasco (in relief of Dontrelle!)
  21. So we go into this season with hopes of competing and winning games and being in the pennant race. If the reality is different, then that's the same reality that many teams, with higher payrolls, will share. Don't patronize me, David. I don't understand why that's so hard to believe. If they and Giradi EXPECTED or PREPARED for anything less than that, they wouldn't deserve to have their jobs. I'm not saying they're going to win the pennant either... but in their position, that's what they have to prepare for. If they state publicly anything less, fans would be in outcry. Imagine a manager saying "Well, we just don't want to come last" ... what message would that be sending not only to the fans, but to the players as well? That the players aren't talented enough to win the division. Sooner or later, the players would believe that too. You have to remember we have a lot of young players in this team, they need encouragement and they need to shoot for the stars. IMO.
