Who will man 3b
would anyone really want to put hanley at third with one of the top 3 position player prospects playing there. it's like saying hanley you will be gone when dominguez is MLB ready if not sooner

Who will man 3b
Gaby Sanchez will be at 3B :mis2 but I would think next year 3B will come via trade..... Hank Blalock would look nice at 3B. He got two years left on his deal which would be give Matt Dominguez time to develop down on the farm. The Rangers are looking for a 1B why not ours and move Hammer to 1B? just a thought I guess a not ready Maybin is better than a De Aza he may be better but why start the service clock sooner wouldnt you rather watch him play in miami for 1 more year

So what can we fetch for a package centered around Kevin Gregg?
Is Gregg for Andy Marte realistic? Cleveland really needs BP help so why not strike while the iron is hot. I have no idea if this is realistic and if Marte is even worthwhile but he was a top 5 BA prospect as recently as 2005/2006 i think. Let's deal from a postion of strength. considering Marte sucks these days, yea is gregg for someone that actually has value and not holding onto life of his falling star possible?

Coughlan to second and Uggla to third?
I'd rather put Sampson at second than Andino. I don't think Andino is THAT bad. i don't think a retarded monkey is that bad

Something many fail to realize...
The Derek Lee trade sure did work in our favor too! Just look at what Ricky Nolasco and Renyel Pinto have done while Lee is over there in Chicago making an absolute fool of himself! juan pierre was traded for those 2 and mitre

Willis Stock?
no where near the salary dump lowell was 6 players for 2? beckett was 4 players for 3. willis's value may be low but he could still be traded off by himself for a salary dump move. he increased the return in this deal

The Sleeper in the Deal
Sergio Mitre v2.0 Josh Johnson v2.0 without the arm problems hopefully err no... i know but i can hope for the same success

Rule V Draft

Current lineup
He's got a herniated disk dont know how much bending over he's going to be able to over at 3b before it flares up. and cabrera had a gut the size of a keg doesnt mean he cant play the position for a year before he gets traded next offseason which would be a smart baseball move considering he is likely to start to decline and his cost is going to skyrocket Thats the problem. Will he be able to hold up the season? he cant hold up for a season in left field so if boone is resigned he would be able to get plenty of starts giving off days to willingham and jacobs which i believe they both need. i love willingham but hes not built for the national league and in hopes of a better career a trade to an AL team after next season would be best for him

I say move a bullpen arm to KC for Teahen. Teahen can play 3B and is without a roster spot in KC right now. hopefully something like this is done but do you really have that much faith in the org.

He was then moved to the outfield because of miguel cabrera and mike lowell and finally moved to catcher in hopes to find him a spot on the field in the majors. With consistent playing time next season he would put up a miggy defense so no downgrade there and it is much easier to find a left fielder then third baseman. he is the logical choice to start third between him and uggla. uggla has no throwing accuracy from that distance so you downgrade defense at third and finding a second basemen with offense is much more difficult then a left fielder

Regardless of the budget, Beinfest will make team better
If anyone wants perspective of the unsung firesale (I kinda like that, actually) here's how the stats shape up: 2003 team production (all players, opening day - closing day) HR - 157 R - 751 H - 1459 RBI - 709 This is a flawed way to look at it. Although I agree that the 2004 team was much diminished as compared to the 2003 team, I link that mostly to the failure at catcher. 2004 team production, the better comparison HR - 148 (-9) R - 718 (-33) H - 1147 (-12) I am ignoring RBI because it is far too reliant on batting order placement and redundant with the presence of runs So the 2004 team did decline in offensive production, but almost entirely at catcher. 2003 Catcher / 2004 Catcher HR - 16 / 11 (-7) R - 102 / 80 (-22) H - 182 / 139 (-43) It seem plain to me that: Keep Pudge = Keep Penny = better team. 16-11 = 5 chief

Marlins' club value?
If you were starting a team from scratch, putting a team in the same division with the Red Sox and Yanks, while foolish in terms of wins/losses, would probably equate to a high value (2/4 of your eastern divisional schedule will now sell out). fan gear your not going to be selling any jerseys and caps and some owners like to not be the only people in the crowd hoping the home team wins also some owners focus on winning it may be good for revenue to have them in the same divison about 19 games a season but but your fanbase grows slower than it would elsewhere and your income will eventually be higher off your fanbase then other teams and there is much more potential from your own fanbase

Marlins' club value?
They also keep their players. The have Kazmir, Crawford, and alot of young talent. They'll be a a decent team this coming year. decent and still have a slim to none chance finishing at .500

New windfall for all 30 MLB clubs
Ah I hate wording like that. Does it mean that the Angels are getting 30M, or the entire league? And anyway, assuming a large portion of that comes from the online shop, I doubt we're anywhere near that number. I agree the wording is a tad confusing, but as I understand it, each team is getting approximately $30 million. What the number doesn't take into account is how much the teams were anticipating, or previously receiving. Obviously it's something, but Olney makes it seem as if this is a huge financial gain, which it would have to be since we'd be talking $900 million in revenue (900/30 = 30). As for the second point, online MLB.com sales are divided among the 30 teams despite a disproportionate number of sales, much like national media contracts are divided evenly amongst the 30 teams despite disproportionate TV appearances. Finally, I'd say I very much doubt that this number accounts for merchandise element. The bulk of this revenue is from MLB.tv and MLB.tv premium. I recall reading somewhere the MLB.tv had recently surpassed 3 million subscribers, or some ungodly number. So, 3 million subscribers times (roughly) $80 per subscriber equals... $240,000,000 in revenues for MLB.tv alone. In that case, I do believe that mlb.com is generating $900M per year in profits. MLB.TV is $80, while MLB.TV Premium is $100. That's for a full year. I myself hope they implement HD streams soon. I want widescreen video, especially when they already use the HD feeds for the Blue Jays and White Sox. are you sure those prices were the actual ones because i thought premium was increased this year
