  1. He dresses to well to be a communist. I doubt he'd let me drive his car too, another dead giveaway.
  2. Congrats! That's awesome. Were you the one lacking a Ricky Nolasco autograph?
  3. I'll go with Anibal Sanchez. I never expected him to do what he did. Nobody did, he was 3-6 in AA. Great story. What jokester voted for Pinto? Why is Pinto even on the poll? Did he do something spectactular that I missed? Johnson led the ERA race for quite some time, first to 10, all that. I voted for him, I think he carried the team when it needed to be carried the most.
  4. I'm going to miss picking on Moehler. I hope he's successful whatever he does, wherever he goes, as long as it's not back into the Marlins' locker room.
  5. Here's to Brad Penny getting a ring this year, GO DODGERS!!! And at least Piazza played 5 games in the uniform. He counts, just barely.
  6. Nice. I hope he hits the ball like crazy today. They should have let dontrelle pinch hit at some point, or relieve this last week, he has a bonus in his contract if he makes 35 appearances, this will be his 34th.
  7. It's because they charge you more on the back end of your EBITA if you are a crappy liar. Samson lost my respect, what an ass.
  8. Go Fish! Kill the Phils!
  9. Why is he starting? Because at the beginning of the year, Joe G, resident baseball genius, insisted that Brian Moehler should be in the starting rotation. So damnitt, hes going to end the year in the rotation as well. Loria promised Moehler a spot in the rotation when they were trying to sign him. I wouldn't doubt it. Loria understands the game so well.
  10. Is there confusion as to which "garcia" you guys are arguing about? Remember, we have a Jose Garcia and a Harvey Garcia well from the start I have said Jose Garcia... Harvey Garcia isn't even on the active roster. He's in the organization, but didn't get called up.
  11. Dont worry guys, we will see Petit in the early innings anyway. True.
  12. Hanley. Premium defensive position, better average, slugging % and OPS than Uggla right now. I love Uggla, and he was my pick three weeks ago, but I think Hanley is on the cusp of taking it away.
  13. Where did you get that picture of Moehler? He looks good in blue and white.
  14. so why is he starting tonight? sigh I guess Joe thinks he has a better chance of beating the Phillies. I can't see why though. I'd like to see Petit take this one.
  15. We can only hope they understand the importance of off season conditioning. I know that Olsen and Nolasco bought houses out there and plan on hitting it hard this offseason. Do they condition at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter in the off-season? I doubt it, that's pretty far away. I'll ask.
  16. Come on Ricky, help the Dodgers out! Go Fish!
  17. We can only hope they understand the importance of off season conditioning. I know that Olsen and Nolasco bought houses out there and plan on hitting it hard this offseason. It's amazing what the rookie pitchers have accomplished this year. Four guys that nobody expected to do much ended up with double digit wins, and winning records for a losing ballclub (hard enough for one guy to do, let alone four.) I remember when Ricky was leaving for spring training, he was just happy to be on the 40 man, happy to have a chance at making a team. I am very, very proud. :thumbup
  18. its just such an accomplishment with what the guys have done. i loved the shot they had during the 8th inning or so with the 4 of them. Yeah, they kept saying to capture that image, so I did... I took a picture of my TV, turned out pretty cool.
  19. More hits than anyone in the National League. Fifth overall in baseball. Strikes out less than any of the top five in hits by a factor of two. Sixty stolen bases is an achievement no matter how you cut it. Yeah. Wow. Just wow. A person you respect but do not admire once said that players who excell in few things are routinely noticed while those who are adequate at a large number of things are not. Juan Pierre and Luis Castillo. Endy Chavez (and Byrd, Watson, Godwin, Escobar, etc.) and Ryan Church. Jay Buhner and Edgar Martinez. I'm not exactly sure where you're going there...
  20. I'd like to see Mike Cameron in LF and Gary Matthews Jr. in CF. It's affordable considering the rest of the payroll will be less that $20 million combined. I don't see how a payroll of $30-35 million puts a big league club in the red.
  21. I'm not sure how all the teams do it, but the Dodgers do it by linking your existing credit card to their rewards program, kind of like the 1% back promos that the credit card companies do. Once linked to the card, you recieve points for using that card to make purchases at participating retailers, the stadium, or in the MLB shop online. It's pretty cool.
  22. What's with people liking Willingham for ROY? The guy plays left field like my grandfather. because the ROY is offensive-first. defense doensn't really matter. Just like ortiz is being considered for MVP and his defense is even worse. I'm probably the only one on here that thinks Willingham plays adequate defense. probably not I never said Willingham should get any first place votes, all I said was if he had more at bats, he would definitely be considered that's true, I'm just pointing out that I think Willy plays good defense. I can't recall the last time I've seen him make an error (I might of been looking away or not watching the game). I've just been seeing him making the diving catches, like that one he made early on in Sanchez's no-hitter. Me either. The crap plays he makes can't be credited as errors because he never even gets to the ball.
  23. Miguel coud do what Howard did this season in that park. He could hit 45 in Miami if he was trying to. Have you seen the guy take BP? I saw him hit at least 4 balls into the Dodger Stadium parking lot in one session. I saw him hit 3 in a row off the CITGO sign in Houston's left field (that's a BOMB!!!) Cabrera plays the game the right way, and he's still so young. He's going to be amazing in another couple years, well, more amazing.
  24. What's with people liking Willingham for ROY? The guy plays left field like my grandfather. But can your grandfather put up these offensive numbers? .279 AVG .361 OBP 25 HR 73 RBI Although I'd still give ROY to Uggla with Hanley a close second. Nope. I love Willingham's bat, but his defense is horrendous. Even the balls he makes plays on, he takes horrible routes. I see Hanley and Uggla getting a lot of votes, but I really don't see Willingham finishing in the top 10, even if the majority of voters haven't seen the plays that he just misses and can't be given an error on.
