Bonds: isn't the other team San Diego? Yes, I believe so.

Marlins announce Holiday Mall Tour schedule
Nolasco is appearing friday and saturday according to him, I didn't see a friday appearance on the schedule though, I dunno. He might not even be on the team by then though, team website makes it sound like he's already out the door. Anyways, go get Rick's autograph.

Marlins announce Holiday Mall Tour schedule
Nolasco is down there working out right now, he might make an appearance. I'm sure he didn't fly all the way across the country just to ride around in Dtrain's new convertible Bentley.

Selig says he plans to retire ? and he means it this time
I hate Selig, good riddence. I sent that guy hate mail from Iraq when I was there. Imagine the testosterone laden rage in those letters.

Aguila released
May have been a move to shelter some young talent from the Rule 5 draft, which is coming up. I'm not sure who is eligible this year, but that's normally the intent for clearing room on the 40 man this time of year. Anybody know who's eligible and unprotected so far?

Who was the best offensive position player of 2006? The worst? Who was the best defensive position player of 2006? The worst? Who was the best bench player of 2006? The worst? Who was the best starting pitcher of 2006? The worst? Who was the best relief pitcher of 2006? The worst? Whats everyones opinion? Miguel Cabrera / Abercrombie and Hermida (tie) Dan Uggla / Josh Willingham Alfredo Amezaga / Does Treanor qualify? Josh Johnson / Moehler by a landslide Carlos Martinez / Herges and Messenger (the mop up squad)

Gabbing With Gaby
Thank you for being here Gaby Does it give you heart that players like Uggla and Nolasco were noticed through the AFL last year and ended up in the big leagues? I would love to see you and Mike Jacobs in a plantoon this year like Big Mike and Wes Helms had. Nolasco didn't play in the AFL. Never has. I'd like to see Gaby at 1B for the Marlins in the spring. Keep proving yourself in the fall. Nice win in the 17-15 slugfest last night.

Heavy Marlins talk on ESPN right now.
Seriously wow I really dont understand how someone cant be in favor of trading for A-rod. We are talking potentially the GREATEST PLAYER in the history of baseball. He was also like a .370 postseason hitter before his last 2 series so I hate the unclutch comments. Im not taking any credit away from Willis because hes a great pitcher but you cant but you cant even put them in the same sentence. A-rod comes here and he will hit 50 HR and drive in 140 like he did for Texas and for the Yanks last season. Remember AL pitching is much better than the NL pitching so who knows what could happen. Arlington is a hitter's park. I seriously doubt A-Rod would hit 50 HR playing in our park. Don't get me wrong, he'll knock the cover off some balls, but I don't see 50 HR's happening. I do think he'd give the club a ton of press and sell some more tickets. If the Yankees would pay a sizeable chunk of his salary there's no reason not to do it.

Anyone hear Ken Rosenthal on FOX
peanut butter. i'm super cereal you guys.

Baseball Reference upgraded, Miggy's top 10
That's one nasty list.

Special Message from Fredi Gonzalez to Marlins fans
dont you dare bunt in the 1st with Uggla and we'll get along great And don't think about having Treanor bunt with 1 out and nobody on in the 8th either. Shenanigans I tell ya!

Anyone hear Ken Rosenthal on FOX
yes please I second that.

Trading Girardi's Contract
Plus, is anyone really sold that any team is that hot after Girardi that they'd give up a player for him? I think we could have gotten something from the Cubs, nothing significant, but at the same time that deal could have produced a guarantee that we weren't going to have to pay Joe's salary next year.
-
Damaso Marte
Marte has nasty stuff, but he's never put it together. He's better than some of our guys, but I don't think he's going to be a top value for a team like the Marlins of 2007, with all the talk of keeping payroll low, I don't see anybody getting more than league minimum other than Willis and Cabrera. I see the same situation next spring, with all the washed up has beens showing up as non roster invitees battling youngsters for roster spots.

IDEA!
Has it come to this already? I'd much rather eat babies and murder goldfish than give Loria a dollar. I wouldn't care if next season's average attendance was 11.

Which Marlins caps do you own?
I have an all teal adjustable cheap one from around 1995, signed under the bill by Jeff Conine, and an all black one that Ricky Nolasco scored out of the locker room for me when I visited Miami this year. Oh and a tan visor too. Representing Rialto, CA. Conine and Nolasco grew up in the same city, not sure if everyone was aware of that.
-
Would you be in favor of Bonds in Teal?
Not sure if you were responding to TBBM for not addressing Willingham's bad defense or what sooo many times people on this forum defending his horrendous defense. I'm sick of it. Hammer's D stinks.
-
Would you be in favor of Bonds in Teal?
he wouldn't pack dolphins stadium, but i'd love this move for his bat alone even if he would make willy's LF defense this year look gold glove caliber Not to knock Willy, but Bonds was still getting Web Gems on BBTN robbing homers and all that this year. He can still go. I can already hear somebody saying Willingham had web gems too so to circumvent that...HE MADE WEB GEMS ON ROUTINE BALLS!!! HIS WEB GEMS WERE A RESULT OF TAKING AN AWKWARD ROUTE AND HAVING TO MAKE A SPECTACTULAR EFFORT ON A BALL THAT DIDN'T REALLY REQUIRE THAT MUCH EFFORT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! I think it's almost out of my system now.

What coaches will stay if any?
Kranitz was a Cubs guy, i'd be surprised if he didn't end up there again. He was Girardi's pick too, so I would assume he's SOL.

Closer
German got DFA'd and someone picked him up I believe. When's Carlos Martinez slated to be healthy? 12-18 months for TJ surgery he had it in July, so.... 2008. BOO! Edit on German, BTW.

Closer
German got DFA'd then didn't pitch much. Ended up getting released according to what i've dug up. When's Carlos Martinez slated to be healthy?

Dontrelle not so nice after all
I've talked to him twice and he was real cool. After away games he always comes out and plays with the children of the other players, just goofs around until some autograph seeking douche realizes who he is. His girlfriend/fiancee however, I have seen her be an a**hole. She was sitting behind me at a game and was bagging on these little kids who were all excited about getting Mike Jacobs T-shirts. I don't mean a little bit, she wouldn't let it go. That was that Jewish celebration / Mike Jacobs giveaway day. Then in LA Dtrain's agent, Matt, introduced her to Nolasco's mom (his agent as well) and she didn't say a word, looked at Matt all disgusted and walked away. Matt asked her what was wrong and she just started shaking her head. Not a very nice person in my experience.

Killer concrete falls from Wayne's World and maims fan
Remember when that happened at Wrigley? People started bringing in chunks of concrete in their pockets saying they got hit and they were gonna sue. That was lame.
