Oliver Sucks!!!!!

Featured Replies

ok, you all need to understand this

Oliver is NOT very good.....

he will have one of his better years this year because of the fact of where he will play alot of his games and his stellar D behind him

since he wont be in the rotation very long, any games we steal from the other team with him on the mound i will be grateful for

um.....

oliver sucks.

anyone with a career ERA over 5 for their 12 year career sucks.

fact.

I just cant wait for AJ Burnett To comeback.

We wont be having to worry much about our 5th starter.

Our whole rotation will be alot more dependable.

Exactly I can handle goin 4-1 every 5 games! =) Even that is a littl un-realistic, Pavs, Penny, Willis, Even Beckett is bound to have a bad game.

Here is my goal for every series.

2 games...come at with at least 1 game won.

3 games...come out with 2 out of 3.

4 games...come out with 2 out of 4.

Man I can't beleive some ham and egger on his first post got this many responses. I think we all fell for this rube. Face facts folks, this was a game the Marlins were lucky in, but the luck ran out. I mean how many times does Giles make two errors in a game. Oliver may suck but this post blows!!!!!!!!!!

That's fine for road series. What would you like to see at home?

http://smilies.jeeptalk.org http://smilies.jeeptalk.org http://smilies.jeeptalk.org That is all I ask because that means we are over .500 and in the playoffs most likely.

As for Oliver. He is a decent 5th starter for two months. I will take it until AJ comes back. Don't worry guys. All is ok. If he lasted 1 inning and gave up 15 runs then i might be a little worried

How often does Eli Marrero blast a homerun?

# 5 starter goes 5 solid innings and keeps us in the game...that's what you want.

Anyone that has a problem with Oliver after today is a typical S. Florida FOOTBALL fan. They picked up baseball last September and they expect a win every game.

Go put on QAM I think they are discussing the OL situation for the Dolphins.

guys oliver does not really suck that much.

I would take him on my team so fast cuz he is a lefty that eats up innings.

also c'mon in his first start everybody was happy and today everybody is like oh he sucks now....give the guy a freakin break....he is better than all you haters out there.

dude he is our number 5, and the hr he gave to chipper was a hanging breaking ball that half of the forum could have taken deep. He isnt bad just threw a few bad pitches thats all. We neved expected him to do more then he did tonight which is give us a chance to win. plus dude we are 8 and 2, its not the end of the world

The only thing that gets me is:

With the off day on Monday, why didn't we skip Oliver and get right back to Beckett? Isn't that what you do with #5 starters?

Panic Button LOL

Oliver is a band-aid period. He's here to eat up innings till AJ returns, then he'll be a good guy to come outta the pen.

He didnt get skipped cause Jackie likes to keep his pitchers throwing....

oh well, ill just wait for the homestand to go see some more games...enjoy attacking each other.

I don't like Oliver much but he's doing a whole lot better than can be expected. Let's not forget our offense stranded a number of runners in scoring position in a bunch of different innings.

Couldn't agree more. I always said I'd much rather keep Redman, but we're talking about a big drop in salary too.

Any games we win with Oliver starting are a bonus. At the rate AJ's on (if he comes back in June), Oliver will probably get about 7 more starts.

So far he's 1-1, I'll take it.

I've said several times that, that would be the only thing I would've changed from the offseason, but I believe Oliver will do fine until AJ comes back. Oliver is a 5th starter on pretty much any team in the league, and that just means we're going to have to score more for Oliver.

He wasn't always in the top of pitching staffs in his young career but he came down here and Rosey has really made him into a great pitcher. Mybe he can do the same with Oliver if it's not to late...

Do you want Josh and Brad split up in the rotation though? Because that is what it would mean.

Like I said in my post after Oliver's first game, he is a flyball pitcher who will get banged up and who will be saved often by the frienly confines of the JRS. As long as he serves up W's more often than L's I don't mind.

AJ is lurking

Jones' HR probably goes into the corner in the Pro, but Marrero's doesn't clear the scoreboard. So your're right...we probably win this game in the Pro.

I don't think he sucks at all, I mean even PEDRO MARTINEZ gave up 7 runs the other day. I iwll gaurantee you there will be a game in which one of our GOOD pitchers gives up 5+ runs. Are you all gonna come here and say he SUCKS!
