He's come into numerous games to play the 7th, 8th, 9th, etc. and also that game where he came in during the 2nd inning and played the whole thing, wasn't a start but nonetheless he did very well.

September 19, 200521 yr I don't think anyone has to worry about Easley. He's no longer an everyday player and his role on the bench is reasonably secure unless someone is available the Fish just can't say no to. As for Andino he's got another couple of weeks to show what he's made of. So far so good. (I was especially impressed tonight that he did exactly the right thing a rookie is supposed to do when thrown at, even repeatedly, which is nothing. He kept his wits about him, didn't put his team in a bad position - Wilson was already in the game and only Mordy and Lenny were left to play the infield - he worked the count and got on base)

So long as it fits their argument, that is. Not hating on you, but seeing that made me think of all the other times "overrated stats" have been mentioned.

I think he'd be an improvement over Encarnacion right now if given the chance the at bats. As for Andino, I'd go with him as well next year. If nothing is happening on the stadium front, the Marlins will be looking to trim payroll and going with Andino and Hermida will save around $7 million and probably not be a huge drop off in production. It may even be an improvement.
September 19, 200521 yr See, what I said about those Southridge Alumni. I put up that post before, but I guess that I posted it in the wrong area because it was closed out. Also, I guess I offended people who have some sort of connection with the Kendall area high school teams. However, I did compliment Killian. Sorry if I offended anyone; I was just saying what other programs have been saying for many years about the politics at those other schools in relation to their lack of success, in particular when they come out as the best of their area only to become sacrificial lambs for teams from other areas. But, forget that and I should have been more politically correct. Anyway, I hope that the fish use the money that they can save by letting Alex go on something else. I prefer to let Andino and Wilson battle it out for the position next year. However, I would like to sign a budget friendly veteran SS as insurance should they both fail in their efforts.
