Do we know if Borowski cleared waivers?

Featured Replies

Is the team going for the WC this year as far as FO/Loria is concerned? No trades at July deadline (and I wish they had) makes me believe they are not, so why not try for another youthful piece of the '07 puzzle or why worry about the pen at this point?

I seriously seriously doubt he made it passed the Houston Astros, let alone making it all the way through waivers

seriously....why not try and keep him for one more year????

because someone is going to overpay for him

It's sad to see all these successful closers go.....Tankersley and C-Mart close next year??

C-Mart had Tommy John.

It sucks that closers come here and turn around their careers and then take paydays elsewhere.

Lemme float next year's names....

Brad Lidge....Kerry Wood.....maybe Mando again??? They all fit modus operandi except Wood but his career is going to have to be as a closer.

It's cool, but I'd like to be able to hang on to one of them. They have to get their money, but it just reminds you of the unfortunate situation regarding the franchice when you can't retain your players.

I'm down to deal Borrowski. Who knows if we are going to get any compensation for him after the year so lets get somethign for him.

But after a year here, they're going to command more than they're probably REALLY worth any other year. I'd rather buy low for a guy who will probably have the same kind of season as a closer who you would be buying high because of his performance in his contract year.

WHo knows we might have a top pitching prospect in the minors get some winter ball work in as a closer cause he thinks it might be the fast track to making the big club

YES indeed they turn around their carrers, just like Armando Benitez did right? ANd got a payday !! :whistle :whistle

Did I miss something ? Was Borowski placed on waivers today ?

almost every player in baseball is placed on waivers

The moment to trade JoBo has come and gone He will finish the year as a Marlin, I know that there might be interest in him but Joe G is not gonna overhaul the Bullpen. The injury endured by K-Mart and Kensing's struggles pretty much killed that option.

If the Marlins are not in contention for a Wild Card slot they just might let Borowski go...need to get him on waivers like yesterday....have not seen that happen...can Tank handle closing...you bet....watch his mound presence....the key for next year is EXPERIENCE...talent is all around that clubhouse....

I agree with you but is Tank definately going to be our closer for next year? If so, I would like him to close now.

Id trade JoBo for prospects in a heartbeat. We'd make a killing on him right now.

This season is over in terms of the playoffs and I wouldnt want Borowski closing games when we make a serious run at the World Series in 2008.

But he did a real nice job this year so thanks big Joe.

If Houston would give us something good like their CF prospect Pence, I would pack Joe's bags myself.

The marlins could bring back Brian Harvey and he could close sucessfully down here. We just have a closer's park and great team for it.

I'd trade him . but I think they'll hold onto him. if they were planning on dealing him he woulda been gone by the deadline. That'd be kool if the bosox picked him up.
