Jorge Julio traded to the Rockies for Byung-Hyun Kim

Featured Replies

At least Kim has been throwing well in his AAA rehab starts...5 games, 24.1 innings, 21 hits, 31/11 K/BB, .233 baa.

Julio on the other hand got roughed up in Jupiter.

I wondered why the Marlins didnt go after a Rockies minor league outfielder. It wont hurt to add someone decent in our system.

Kim doesnt want to close.

in japan, it is considered to be failure if players close the game

all hes going to be for us is another head case

Good thing that BHK is Korean then.

Im not expecting anything from Kim really, just be better than Julio....can't be too hard to achieve that. Why couldn't Colorado have taken Reggie also??

Why would Kim care about what happens in Japan? He's not Japanese.

Kim cant be worse then Julio.

At least Kim provides a different look coming out of the bullpen.

Great point. Our bullpen is stocked with live arms with great fastballs. Kim gives you a completely different look as opposed to Messenger/Owens/Lindstrom all coming out blazing fastballs...

And Kim is a great pitcher for our health situation. He can fill any role you need him to.

lolz im happy we got rid of julio but them bummed by bkim....meh about this trade

What were you expecting? Jon Lester?

Jon Lester is on Boston, Not Colorado

Yeah, I realized that after I posted it. I read it as Sox. :lol

Question: Is it too early to say Beinfest was wrong on the Julio experiment, or should we still ride it out while he pitches for the Rockies?

He was wrong.

Wait 'til Julio leaves some fastballs up in the zone at Coors...

They needed to pull the trigger on sommething after last night, and their credit they did. Even saved a few bucks not that ever mattered but Kim is being paid $2.5 million for the year (vs $3.6 mil to Julio) less of course the $1,000,000 the Fish got from Arizona and Petit's $380k, their net 5/6ths of $1.2 million, or about $1 mill give or take.

The question I have is since Kim is in AAA on rehab what's his major league roster status?
