August 30, 200718 yr I have personally boycotted watching any remaining Marlins games this year, or going to any (although I couldn't anyway), because of this team's horrendous collapse over the past month. It also all seemed to start when we let Kim go on waivers for nothing. Yes, we just got him back, but it was far too late to help at all. This season effectively ended, at least competively, in mid-August. Anyone else doing this? Or am I the crazy one here? ....don't answer that last question. :mischief
August 30, 200718 yr Author I'm aware it's not going to hurt them, but this team refuses to spend any money on personnel to win.
August 30, 200718 yr Author It just makes me angry that this team is playing like the season is over, so I don't see why it deserves my viewership, at least not until Opening Day.
August 30, 200718 yr :lol 1) Fan boycotts in general are stupid 2) What's one less fan to the Marlins? You think we don't have enough orange seats already? I'm sure your presence will be greatly noticeable and missed.
August 30, 200718 yr honestly all it does is affect you as a supposed Marlin fan, cause it makes you an uneducated fan... We all lose faith here at times, too often really...but I'm a strong enough fan that even if I miss two games out of spite for the team...I end up just angering myself and becoming frustrated because, yeah maybe the team lost both games...but maybe I missed Hermida getting hot, Vanden Hurk's best outing all year, Uggla homering in consecutive games, Dontrelle getting his home run swing back, Amezaga playing first, Treanor blocking the plate, De Aza showing what a true centerfielder is, Willingham running into the wall, Cody Ross falling into the bullpen, or maybe just a funny dugout moment between Miggy and Amezaga... point is, nobody's forcing you to watch any games...but if you miss them, and youre a big enough Marlins fan, youll just end up frustrating yourself because you are bound to miss SOMETHING...I doubt I'm the only person on these boards who hates missing the little moments like that... if thats fine by you, then by all means, we'll see you in April of 2008...
August 31, 200718 yr I'm devastated that there exists a fair weather baseball fan in Florida. Hanley and Cabs are still worth watching, and the occasional win still feels good. Well, see ya on the bandwagon when the Marlins are good again.
August 31, 200718 yr Author I have been a fan since the beginning, and I take offense to anyone who calls me a bandwagoner. I just want to see some EFFORT on the part of the players, or better yet, or manager (who needs to be fired).
August 31, 200718 yr that should help. :lol We all get disappointed when our team gets destroyed every night Future GM but I don't think you have really thought this one through.

I only get to see the FSN Florida games. There's no way I'm missing those for some boycott.

I'm with ya. And for alot more reasons than you have stated. But let me make sure I have this straight. The guy dosen't or isn't able to go to the games. He mainly watches them on TV and is now not even doing that. Hmmmm. Meanwhile we just got our package in the mail for renewing our season tickets. Which we will be doing this week end.
August 31, 200718 yr cant say that im with u on boycotting the Marlins. i look forward to every Marlins game win or lose. The offseason is extremely long for me so I want to watch as many as I can.
August 31, 200718 yr Meanwhile we just got our package in the mail for renewing our season tickets. Which we will be doing this week end. My renewal is already in the mail. Decided to stay put and keep my same seats for next year. See ya next year at the games too, Bob!
August 31, 200718 yr through thick and thin i watch the games , yeah this team has been very hard to watch much of this year....but this is MY team
August 31, 200718 yr I will not boycott them; however, this weekend will be my last trip down until next season. Had they at least been competitive at this point, I may have come down for the Cubs series as well. With college football starting this Saturday (Go Gators!) and the NFL next week (Go Jags!), the Marlins will definitely take third seat on my entertainment list until Spring Training.
August 31, 200718 yr The cut and run attitude of the OP is hardly surprising. :lol In my view, you support your team through thick and thin. No if's and's or but's. Bandwagon fans suck. Hard.
