canada-marlin24
he is simply not ready and needs to be sent down. All the runs he gave up came with 2 outs and the difference in the game was his wild pitch. he showed a few signs of progressing but i think maybe volstad should come up... but i dont want to rush him either.... and hell is waechter can do what he did tonight i would have no problem seeing him in the rotation... dont forget he was a top prospect for the rays
Hollyberry
The difficult thing is if we send down Andrew and bring up Chris - what will happen if Chris is not ready to. I would love to give him a try but he is still young and is learning.
canada-marlin24
then i would say give the job to waechter
Erick
Volstad's not coming up. Financial reasons.
EricWiener
Miller certainly didn't look good, but with some help he might have only surrendered 3 or so.
Out of the Past
I think Miller will be sent down and Waechter will take his spot.
MikeLowell
Just send Miller down. I don't even care if we don't bring Volstad up. Miller is not ready and has not been ready for a good number of starts. Send him down before his last bit of confidence is destroyed. Ns2003
Send miller down, no question about it, he needs to go down to the minors to get his s*** together. Â Waecher should take his spot in the rotation, he has been pitching really good out of the bullpen, he deserves the shot.
Erick
Put Waechter in the rotation. Bring up Joe Nelson (9 saves in AAA...a hitters league). Plus, Nelson was also the surprise of Spring Training.
fishfan97
I think we should bring up Ryan Tucker, this could be the best pitcher out of Thompson, Volstad, Hernandez, Sinkbeil.
miamibaseball
i think Waechter take miller place but i think miller might go to bullpen in place of Waechter the guy on 790ticket is talk about might happen

That's the WORST thing the Marlins can do.

If he's removed from the rotation it's because he's sent to the minors.

If you're talking about Volstad, get used to calling the franchise a "joke" because he won't be up till at least June 20th...and I think it's smart. B. Miller isn't terrible. He's just way too inexperienced. Less than 100 innings in the minor leagues...he needs to go down, and work on some stuff.
gomarlins9703
Something to make you want to pull your hair out:Â ''We didn't want to take a chance and send him back out there,'' Gonzalez said. As far as Miller's outing, he added ``he didn't pitch as bad as the box score will indicate.''Â Really, Fredi? How many games in a row does he need to get shelled before "bad luck" becomes a trend? :bangdesk
pierremvp1
On most teams Miller wouldn't be in the rotation. He's here for the same reason Rabelo is here, and Badenhop. To justify the Cabs trade/Willis giveaway. Miller, Rabelo, Badenhop...they all SHOULD be in AA ball. For purposes of this thread, specifically Miller. I think he's shown he's got the goods. Tonite, things would have been much different had Hermida caught that short fly to RF/CF. That cost us 4 runs. And Miller would have been sitting in the dugout. But no matter how good or bad Miller performs, he still belongs in AA, and if he stays as expected by me in the bigs let's hope that they shut him down after 180 innings, for sake of his health. MarlinsLou
Put Waechter in the rotation. Bring up Joe Nelson (9 saves in AAA...a hitters league). Plus, Nelson was also the surprise of Spring Training. This. Although, I don't care about saves and spring training surprises. I care about 14 IP with a 1.00 whip and 21 K so far this year. He'd be fine as the last guy in the pen. Miller needs to go to Carolina for at least a dozen starts.

He's just a backup catcher, who just so happens to be starting on our team. Don't put him into a "prospects" list.
Admin
I'm really inclined to think that the Marlins could have done better than Rabelo if they dealt to two separate teams. Quite frankly I'm not even sure why they bothered. He is marginally better than Treanor, at best.

BroncoBob27
Volstad's not coming up. Financial reasons. Volstad's not coming up. Because Volstad's not ready. No need to rush him. The FO has shown in the past that if someone is deemed ready, up they come. Financial reasons be damned. In Chris's case I think patience is a virtue. I think Andrew should go down and get things together. Put Doug in the rotation for now and bring someone up to fill the long relief spot. Leave Volstad where he is to get his starts in and fine tune.

He needs to go down, get his starts in and get that delivery consistent. Besides, the pen has this thing now about growing 'staches and I don't think Andrew can do that. He wouldn't fit in. And I was pulling for Nelson in ST. Be nice to see him up here.
