Im not saying Manny here would bring a permanent great crowd, but for the first couple of games, sellouts. Its like if the Red Sox were coming here.

Hanley and Manny are really good friends from Hanley's Red Sox days, so maybe Hanley could influence Manny to coming here.

He plays a lazy ass LF, he's better suited in the AL as a DH. I wouldn't want him dragging us down defensively, he does have a hot bat though.

Yup, I was just watching Hammer tracking down that ball in the top half of the 7th and I told myself "Damn, Manny would never catch up to that".

In a P.Gammons article on ESPN, it is said that the Red Sox will take over Manny's Salary as long as they're provided with young talent.

I dont see him coming to the NL... he could never play our field and would probably need to DH.

You want him because he's a name and people know who he is. I think people only really want him because they think it will bring credibility to this team somehow. But his numbers are not that impressive this year. He's well below his career numbers.

I'd absolutely love Manny on the Fish and I think it's a good fit he'd have a good degree of anonymity here which I think would really appeal to him.

That's one of the reasons why Jacobs is not an outfielder. Not sure why that's relevant to Manny or Hammer.
