9/2 Post Game

The offense is not to blame tonight, its the terrible pitching. Especially the bullpen. Except for Rhodes, Waechter and maybe Nelson I don't trust any of them lately to help close out a game we should have won. Season over. Need to address relief pitching this offseason AGAIN.

Sun sports up in Jacksonville rarely shows Marlins games so I did not see the July 4th game but this is probably the worst game I have seen all year . We have played like absolute shite for a long time now . Fortunately UF football has started and Jaguar football starts this week because it is getting really hard to see the Marlins find new ways everyday to lose games . It is going to be a rough finish I initially thought the marlins would win 75-78 games I am starting to think despite our fast start that is where we are going to finish

Cantu hands down, left 7 men on base tonight, 0-5

Oh and Fredi is my second vote, for taking Jake out of the game in the sixth.

This bullpen's a joke. And we still can't win two in a row. I just hope we can win the series tomorrow.

BTW, great for everyone voting for the guy who allowed two runs, instead of the guys who allowed 6 runs(Ani), 4 runs(Hendrix), 4 runs(Kensing), and 2 of someone else's runs to lose the lead(Nelson).

BTW, Nelson is the patron saint of letting inherited runners score.

I voted for Anibal. The way hes pitched his past two games has been agonizing to watch. Its like you can actually see the uncertainty on his face. But Cantu (other than his sac fly) was a close second. I know hes supposed to be one of our most consistent hitters but he was terrible tonight.

I was at the game, It was exciting but frustrating the team showed it's ability to fight back and the bullpen's ability to blow leads.

A-hole of the game from my point of view was Kensing he came in and completely shifted the mommentum to the Braves...Oh well I had fun at the ballpark with all 4,000 in attendance....it's a shame it was a great game.

I'm shocked Lindstrom doesnt get more votes here... yes the entire bullpen was weak...but when the 9th came, we were tied and prepared to get another walkoff win in the bottom of the ninth... yet Matt gave up two runs... we had a chance, and it was Lindstrom who blew the final shot... I know we had given up 14 runs before that... but whether it was 14-14. 104-104, 1-1, or 0-0...we had a chance in that inning and it was Matt Lindstrom who blew it...

If Scott Olsen gives up 3 innings in a tie game, and Kevin Gregg comes in and blows the 9th...we would all blame Kevin, not Scotty...same concept....thus, Matt Lindstrom gets the blame here

frustrating as hell, however it woulda been a tougher loss to take if we were within 2 or 3 games of the division lead

hopefully these guys realise that the pressure is now off and they go out and enjoy the rest of the games and just try to finish with as good a record as they can

and a 2 game winning streak would be nice

A few days ago Mark Hendrickson said that he had figured out and corrected what he had done wrong when he was a starter. He credited this "correction" with his good record as a reliever. He also said he was going to keep that information between "me and myself". Well Mark, the cat is out of the bag.... the cat is not pretty. You have more correcting to do.

Ani got my vote the braves had a line up full of scrups with the exception of mccann and then he gives up a bomb to frenchy on like a 1-2 count . And as usall he was walking guys like it was his job.

Sure the offense is to blame. If you have bases loaded twice with one out, you should score some runs off very mediocre pitching. All the pitchers pitched terrible tonight, it comes down to putting people on, coming up with a big hit, and scoring more than the other team regardless of how the pitchers do.

The loss was a team effort. It should of never been tied with the bases loaded opportunities we had, we should of won. Hitters should be held accountable for not producing in the clutch also.

that is true..it seems that every time joe comesi n the game with inherited runners they always score on him....i think he is still good but i say give him hiso wn inning..like 7th or 8th

It was a horrible game to watch and the result was even worse. I fear that this afternoon game will be like last years game against the Nats where about 300 people showed up (unless it is a camp day)

This applies to the game thread as well.
