The man beast hit 2 homers tonight in 2 games. He's hitting .288 with 10 homers and 31 RBI's in a pitcher's league!

What are they waiting for to bring this kid up?

Oh i forgot.... the mancrush Freddy has on Bonifacio.

Demote this sorry P.O.S. and bring up Stanton. Move Coughlan to 3rd.

Maybe because he's only 19 years old.

No need to rush him, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't promote him to AA after the FSL all-star game.

No need to rush is right. We have Hanley locked up for awhile. Be patient with Stanton, let him develop and when he does get called up we will have the best 3/4 hitters in the league for a long time.

He does deserve to be promoted to AA soon.

Griffey, Sheffield, Andrew Jones, and Cabrara were 19 when they were brought up from the minors. So there is no reason why this guy should not be brought up right now.

Sheffield and AndrUw Jones were cups of coffee at 19, Miguel came up at 20, not 19, and it was in the second half. And really, Ken Griffey Jr was a prodigy who grew up in a ML dugout, so, it's not fair to compare Mike Stanton to him...

Calling up Stanton now, before he's ever sniffed AA would be positively dumb. Like others have said, if he's still mashing, send him to AA in a little while, if he hits the ground running there consider him for a September callup, otherwise, let him continue developing and see what happens next year. Everyone complains about Cameron Maybin and the effects being rushed had on him, and now we're supposed to do it to our home grown uber-prospect?

Cool so Stanton is a hall of fame level player now? He still strikes out a ton, even if he's been significantly better in May. He would be carved up in the bigs. I can see maybe 2 months in AA to end the year, open up in AA in 2010 and if he has continuously bashed the entire time, maybe a summer 2010 promotion. That's a beyond best case scenario though.

Send him and Allison to the Suns. :thumbup

He should be seeing better pitching by now, forget about his age look at his physical maturity. He should already be moved to Jacksonville

It's not about age or physical maturity, it's about experience. I'd rather call Stanton up a month late than a day early, absolutely not worth risking him.

PWG we are talking Double A here now

Ive heard besides the jump to the bigs going from a ball to double a is the hardest jump for most players to make.

Doesn't make a difference if we're talking Single A, AA or AAA... age and physical maturity don't dictate progression, performance does.

If he keeps destroying FSL pitching he'll get promoted to AA within the next few weeks.

Another home run tonight...he continues to kill the ball in Jupiter.

In the completion of the game from yesterday and the 7 inning game tonight Stanton was walked 4 times and hit a monster bomb in the range of 400 ft, he even knocked in a run on a ground out. He played CF in the 2nd game. Allison pitched well tonight he could have gone scorless if the first baseman Blackwood hadn't screwed up twice. There were already runners on when he made his goofs. To Allisons' credit he could have got frustrated and blown, but he settled down and even gave encouragement to the 1b. I hope both get tpromoted to Jax soon. In the two games today the Hammerheads had 30+ hits!!

It was funny when it looked like Allison was going to fall apart, he didn't get a close call for a strike, the Manager Leiper started yelling at the ump, the ump looks into the dugout and Leiper starts yelling at him for looking at him, he used the F-bomb several times as yells at the blue and then looks at the batboy and says "Earmuffs"!

Another big fly for Stanton tonight...Uh-Mazing!

If he continues crushing the ball I would not be suprised if he is in AA soon, or even with the Fish when the rosters expand.

Promote him to AA!!!

They can promote him after the Hammerheads come to Fort Myers on June 22-24 because I wanna see this kid play. The Miracles stadium is literally a 5 minute drive from where I live. Knowing my luck... he'll be in AA by this time.

Of course promoting him now is idiotic, but at the same time I don't believe that rushing a kid will ruin him or hurt his abilities in any way. What are some examples of this? It's an overused cliche that somehow people have just bought into and accepted as fact, when reality to me says that if you have the talents to play, being promoted too early and struggling won't diminish that talent in any way.
