Matt Lindstrom traded to Astros

What a joke. What we're going to get can't be anything useful, seeing as they haven't even dropped a name the Astros may give us.

IT'S MATT LINDSTROM...WHAT WERE YOU EXPECTING?

Is your caps lock broken, bro?

Waste of a trade. Not that Lindstrom is any good... but why trade him for what we believe is dead end players? Salary?

He's not worth $1.4 million and isn't a good player. He's a few bad innings away from pitching in the California Penal League.

His first 2 years were good and his third was plagued by injury...have no idea where you are coming from. Over 12,000 posts and you say something like this. There were 10 teams lined up interested...you should be ashamed of yourself. Instead of recognizing him for taking the ball everytime he was called on, and helping the Marlins in the bullpen, all you can do as a fan (I question that) is belittle the player that busted his a$% day in and day out. Congrats you get D-Bag of the year award.

100% salary. He's going to make $1.5 million, give or take $150,000, and he's probably not $1 million plus dollars better than replacing him with Wood/Leroux/Tucker/etc.

What's going to suck is when Houston plays the Marlins and Matty kicks our a@#.

Safe to say I'm not worried about an average 1 inning reliever.

This coming from a guy who wanted Ryan Tucker to be the closer.

This is good news for Lindstrom. Looks like he will have a good chance closing in Houston. And when they play the Marlins, if the Marlins dont have the lead by the 9th, ill be rooting for Matt all the way to shut the door on the fish.

Oh, in return we got a nameless junk. That tells us two things: how valuable ML is in the eyes of other teams and how the farm in Houston is.

If Leo Nuñez can stay away from giving up a homer to whoever is due first in the ninth, then we will forget ML in a week

#marlins trade lindstrom to astros for 2 minor leaguers, rhp robert bono and ss luis bryan

- Clark Spencer

Yeah, those are nobodies.

We probably aren't getting that 3rd player, unless the Marlins find someone they really want to have on their 25-man roster for the entire 2010 season (unlikely).

You never know.....might find another Dan Uggla.

It was Leo's first year in the NL East and you think it's going to get better? Marlins Fans will be calling for his head last week in April. Junk for Lindstrom? Just goes to show you how brilliant the FO is.

Stats for Luis Bryan:

wow not a bad line for an eighteen year old. He did hit .340 and an OPS of .830+.

the Marlins are getting the Astros first pick in the Rule 5 . Looks like something around the eighth pick in the draft. Not so bad.

and the kid pitcher (age 20 btw) started 25 games last season, with a 3.20 ERA. His whip has gotten lower each season. He's progressing slowly but he is progressing - three levels in three seasons. I really have a lot of respect for the minor league scouting staff the Marlins have. It's really worth waiting to see what develops instead of immediately saying everyone is nameless junk.

I still haven't given up on Ryan Tucker. Unlike Lindstrom, he's not 30.

Is that supposed to be a bad thing?

1. If anything, he probably made adjustments, too.

2. When did the NL East become the AL East?

I would have thought that maybe the Marlins should have packaged something with Lindstrom to at least get one decent prospect. Both of those guys showed big time improvement when you consider what their career numbers in the minors look like. Bono has pitched in 51 games (48 starts) in his 3 years in the minors and he is 10-16 with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. He is also not much of a strikeout pitcher so he doesn't miss a lot of bats. Bryan has played in 75 games in his two years in the minors and he is 60 for 262 (.229 avg, .580 OPS) with 29 runs scored, 2 homers, 27 RBIs and 7 stolen bases.

Prospects? I was led to believe that the Marlins would be getting a Mike Lowell caliber player for Lindstrom and he would be completely paid for.

Beinfest is getting screwed here big time.

Stay classy, buddy.

Bono walked only 19 in 143.1 IP, thats the stat that I like the most.

I wonder where Tommy Mendoza (kid from here...went to Monsignor Pace High School) will go in the Rule V draft. He's a good prospect, and the Angels decided to let him go to the Rule V. Maybe we can get him tomorrow...

I say this because my brother coached him, obviously. But really, he is a good prospect.
