The Official Giancarlo Stanton Man Crush Thread

Featured Replies

Yesterday's HR to dead center means he's locked in for now. Everyone slumps I just wish his slumps weren't so long and so shitty.

exactly. very happy and content but very cautious. hitting a homer off Kershaw is an amazing accomplishment. we are winning so above all, if he strikes out 4 times but we win, then its all good.

The only thing you should hold your breath over is if he can stay healthy.

this is a good point as well. I actually am curious how he will handle miller park since its the first at bat there since he was hit.

Hit a baseball out of this ballpark.

Not a good point as well. Your point is silly. Holding your breath because Stanton can be streaky is dumb. He's just that type of hitter. It's not ideal but whatever. Gotta live with it. He needs to be healthy, and freak accidents and leg issues have prevented that. I'm hoping for a complete Stanton season.

was there any mention that Kershaw was the pitcher when Stanton broke his hand last june?

oh nevermind, it was the Friday night and not against Kershaw.

Well, honestly, it could be bad towards the end of the contract. It's really not a great contract especially towards the latter years, but that's only because most 13 year contracts suck.

Realistically, it's also not a 13 year contract. He won't be here for more than 6 years, if that.

^Of course that last post depends on our next owner, too. I could've edited this in there, but I wanted to increase my post count.

If he's here for the six years with his typical production it's a phenomenal contract for the Marlins. Yes the final years of the 13 could be tough (though they could also still be good) but for that article to call the entire contract a bust solely because of his slump this year is absurd.

I agree. I didn't really read the article. It's Passan so whatever.
