Posted February 28, 201114 yr so how did coghlan look manning centerfield. i know he didn't play the whole game out there but did he at least look comfortable
February 28, 201114 yr I'm not even sure he had a ball go his way during his time in the game. I'm sure his clothes fit real nice though.
February 28, 201114 yr I heard he was turned towards the centerfield wall for the first two batters, so he may need some more practice at the position.

March 1, 201114 yr I'm not even sure he had a ball go his way during his time in the game. I'm sure his clothes fit real nice though. Yea, nothing was hit his way. He had Monday off, so that means he will be manning the position for our first ST game.
March 2, 201114 yr Couple went his way. Made a nice jump in on one for the catch and had one fall in front of him, no way anyone could get to that one. And his uniform fit nicely. The "make-shift" IF looked pretty good with their gloves. Dobbs plays a very nice 1B, Boni got to a couple I didn't think would be grabbed, Donny made a couple nice plays, and Matt dove to knock down what could have been a double to keep it a single. Probably the highlites of a blah day. But it was fun to be there.

March 2, 201114 yr really liking that scott cousins is getting his hits so far just in case dominguez doesnt make it. would like to see coghlan at second, infante at third and cousins in center. but i guess were all better off with dominguez winning the spot and having cousins as the 4th outfielder which would be good as well.
March 3, 201114 yr really liking that scott cousins is getting his hits so far just in case dominguez doesnt make it. would like to see coghlan at second, infante at third and cousins in center. but i guess were all better off with dominguez winning the spot and having cousins as the 4th outfielder which would be good as well. It would be a very Marlins thing to do to prep Coghlan for CF all spring and then stick him at second with no work. Not that I'm against it, as I'm not for Dominguez starting the year in the bigs nor Coghlan in CF. I don't really believe Cousins in starting caliber though, and would have preferred this situation being avoided by having a true CFer.

I am cureious to know what you see in Cousins to make you believe he cannot be a major league calibre CF? We have many players as starters with a lot less talent

We haven't started a player will less talent than Cousins since Emilio Bonifacio played horrifically in 2009.

Insider info?? Yea, right. Insider, between me and about 3K or 4K other people. Did you not see the title of the thread and the very first post? This post is called answering that question and keeping with the topic of the thread. Try it sometime. Once again you show that you hate people that actually go to the games. Why is that?

Dude, maybe I missed something somewhere, but wtf. You need to grab a nice cold glass and chill.
March 3, 201114 yr I love the fact that BroncoBob's demeanor has become so grumpy and irrational that he's now verbally berating those people trying to be nice to him.
March 3, 201114 yr Whoa is right - relax a bit brother. Nothing in that post even looked remotely sarcastic or snide. It seemed like a general thanks.

BS-it was completely sarcastic and everyone who has been here any period of time knows it. Although it was sarcastic, it was somewhat lighthearted-but it is the constant same sarcasm that gets tiring. The "insider" jokes can only go so far, now they are just boring. Bob went to the spring game and made some observations about the game. That is it. I have had some back and forths with him in the past-but then it ends, over with.
March 3, 201114 yr Perhaps the original poster could clarify, but that certainly doesn't seem sarcastic to me in the slightest.
March 3, 201114 yr I wasn't being sarcastic by any means. I meant the insider joke in its most light-hearted of forms, and considering how tough it is to follow the Spring Training games, it was great to hear a summary of Coghlan's performance. Bob, I know you've taken some shots in the past, but you gotta let that stuff slide man. It's an internet forum about a game for crying out loud. EDIT: Plus there was a HAPPY FACE!
March 3, 201114 yr The insideforum jokes are still funny. I lawl daily because of them. Thanks for the inside information Squall. :whistle

March 3, 201114 yr I would argue that the Marlins are neck and neck with the Mariners for the team that has been talked about the least so far in Spring Training. Almost like they are going out of their way not to mention them.
March 4, 201114 yr The insideforum jokes are still funny. I lawl daily because of them. Thanks for the inside information Squall. :whistle Funnily enough, Squall did give us some solid inside info with the stadium.
March 4, 201114 yr As soon as I said that Sean Casey went on a lengthy discussion of why he loves Logan Morrison.

I would say that Cousins has more upside than Amezaga who started many games for us in CF.
