Not to launch a whole Gaby-bash discussion, but I've wanted him replaced long before this season started - the question is: Who is a good solution to replace him with money-wise or are we stuck until next year (or beyond) when Yelich forces the issue?

I think Gaby already have been proven himself that he cannot be the our 1st base solution, anyway.

I know he had a good number against lefty starter. But it shouldn't be long term option, as you know.

I suggest that LoMo should be move to 1st, then we just think about outfielder option.

LoMo moves on 1st / Coghlan goes to regular LF / Add some defensive backup CF

Coghlan shouldn't be playing regularly for this team.

You're just trading one problem for another since Coghlan is no better than Gaby

Coghlan is worse. At least Gaby has been an elite defender at his position and has put up less flukey offensive numbers.

Coghlan has less of a future with the club than Gaby does.

Realistically, Coghlan isn't better option than Gaby, I know.

But we already had a couple of OF players, comparatively few option on 1st.

I think that many people ageed with moving LoMo on 1st.

Are my eyes deceiving me or is Gaby really sucking?

  • #Marlins 1B Gaby Sanchez was charged with the error, but SS Jose Reyes fell on the sword for the defensive misplay that led to the #Nationals' 3-2, 10-inning win: "“I need to make that play. I think I took my eye off the ball at the last moment…I’m better than that. In that situation, we came back in the ninth inning and tied the game so we felt very good about ourselves then we lost the game like that. It’s not acceptable.â€

I wasn't really talking about the throw but in general. I said earlier I thought Reyes should have caught the ball.

BTW, Look at the Red Sox' terrible Bullpen.

They've blowed up 9-0 lead allowing GS and 3-run homer.

I agree that over the long term that Morrison should be at first, but we're not there yet. Right now, getting rid of Gaby, moving Morrison to first, and letting Coghlan play everyday makes this team worse.

I've done no research on this and haven't been following anything in the MLB but the Marlins this season but if we're discussing possible available 1st base solutions, where does Kendry Morales stand?

Gabby is fine for now. He costs the team nothing and way out produces his salary.

Hes also playing under his ability right now. He wont be anything outragous but hes still below what he's shown in the past.

We need a LF solution more than a 1B solution, if anything.

I think this is half of it The other half is that the Marlins probably don't have the pieces to trade for the type of LFer they need.

So ironic then Morales has played OF huh?

...where he sucked in his [very] limited time there.

im f***ing pissed about this one and though i definitely would prefer gaby in the lineup over coghlan, everyone here knows i was really hoping to trade him in the offseason.

i hope he proves me wrong and has a great year but he just doesnt seem to make the proper adjustments offensively.

his defence has been quite good but after this year i think it may be time to move in a different direction.

We no longer worry about money, our owners are big spenders,we were offering Albert over 200million

I meant someone who will be worth the money for the whole contract and we won't be sandbagged later (see Pujols)

Yea, it was a catchable ball. But then I think of all those "throwing errors" in the past that Gaby should have scooped up and think how much worse he has made that IF look than it really was.

That hometown hero title The Franchise gave him seems to be losing some of it's luster.

Gaby had a scatter-arm at UM when he played 3B there, and still does.

That's why the Fish never even considered him as a ML-calibre 3B.
