All I see in that article is "unlikely".

Obviously it's looking pretty unlikely that the Rangers trade for JJ at this point, but you posted that link in the game thread too and nowhere does it say that the Rangers are no longer interested in JJ. It says it's unlikely they trade for him just like 2 days ago there was a 95% chance the Marlins wouldn't consider trading JJ.

It could have been because he'd be a true rental whereas JJ would be part of the Ranger's rotation for another year.

 

f*** it, JJ stays.

Could be some tactic on the Rangers part to see if we'll go lower with JJ. They say that they don't really want him and we're supposed to panic. Not gonna happen obviously, so we'll see where this goes.
