COME AT ME, BRO.

@JonHeymanCBS: #rays seek "north of greinke'' (new phrase) for big-game james. #rangers #dodgers #braves #indians http://t.co/0ze6sDU4

I wonder how this affects anything.

Shield's wont upgrade their rotation as much and JJ would and so they'll just place Ogando into their rotation?

All of this by the Rangers is a ploy to drive the price down. It's a game of chicken.

Will the teams wait for JJ's next outing? He had no-hit stuff last time out. IF JJ has another big game, then he is more than likely gone. ( IMO) If he struggles then we probably keep him.

Would teams do that?

Marlins are right to hold off on the right package for JJ. If they can get a king's ransom, then trade JJ. If not, hold on.

I still think it was a mistake to reflexively trade Hanley without seeing if a new hitting coach could turn him around.

If JJ does well his next start. I think that'll def be his last start.

We need JJ to dominate Sunday. The padres suck so that should help.

Maybe I'm reacting to a poor start by Harrison in Texas, but after looking at their rotation, I can see Daniels giving in to our demands. Especially with Lewis out for 2012 and heading into free agency a year after they lost CJ Wilson. You just don't see that team doing as well as they have in previous 2nd halfs/post-season with Darvish and Holland essentially anchoring you. Obtaining JJ will allow them to avoid a bidding war over Grienke and even a guy like Anibal this winter when those are the only quality arms out there.

Phillies are officially out so look for them to go for lee again

I don't blame teams for shying away from JJ due to injury history. Since we kept him out any time he could actually feel his arm it's not like we gave teams a lot of reason to believe. It appears our "saving JJ for some time unknown when we might actually need a good pitcher to actually be pitching" strategy hasn't worked out as intended.

White Sox acquired Liriano...Count them out..

They were never 'in'.

at least another cheap starter off the market for Texas.... ehh

Send JJ and Buck with them paying Salary and recieve Olt and a low level prospect. They Dont want to give up alot of good prospects atleast take Buck of our hands.

Can we throw in Bell with them paying the rest of his contract ;-)

Hell if they will.

Or maybe they will do the above deal but give us olt and Perez and we will pay bucks salary.

I'm OK with paying $6 million next year for Texas' backup catcher if we get Olt and Perez for it. :lol

If the marlins don't move JJ for Olt, we are going to have a major hole at 3b.

Does the hole have better range than Hanley?

Brewers were demanding Profar do it fell thru, so hopefully if we dont mention him we get it done for Olt if JJ looks good today.

I hope he pitches good and is not traded.

I hope he pitches bad and is not traded.

fixed.
