June 4, 201412 yr Not terribly opposed to this. While he has a decent bat right now he simply is not a good fielder and while working on that in New Orleans he can also improve aspects of his hitting game. I hope Tejada and Furcal come up, one now and one when tejada is ready to replace Solano. I know everyone else's on here opinion about Furcal but i think he can make a really positive impact with his speed and other aspects of his leadership. If they can put up a .730 ops I would be thrilled and it would strengthen our bench. If solano could get out of my life i would also be happy.
June 4, 201412 yr Uhhhh did not see that one coming. He is a better fielder then he has shown but I thought he was hitting pretty well. Maybe a few weeks will help him out. He did have a .342 OBP.
June 4, 201412 yr Don't think it is furcal however unless they think he is ready despite not completing AA in his rehab yet. I think it might be Valdespin for a few days maybe a week until Furcal is ready. Also when is the date Tejada is allowed to return.

Idk i just don't think they are that infatuated with him they were just waiting for a capable replacement. I think they saw him continuing to struggle and thats why they signed Tejada. I think he will be given a few weeks or months in New Orleans when they are ready and if he continues to struggle. We will see though.
June 4, 201412 yr Shocking... Furcal was getting rehab starts in AA so I'm guessing this is a sign he's ready and will start everyday at 2B. I'm fine with Dietrich getting AB's in the minors, but he's shown for the second season in a row that he was improving at the plate and was ready to stay the full season in the majors. I've already said my peace about this issue in another thread. It's insulting that a guy makes a few non game threatening errors and he's benched while needing to "clear his mind", and the offensive zero playing everyday at shortstop doesn't get sh*t for being the same bad player he's been for years. I don't blame Hech, he is who he is. The front office is just annoyingly shortsighted a great deal of the time. Either that or the front office really does still hate Dietrich but he's too good of a player to let go of.
June 4, 201412 yr This seems strange more so cuz I don't think there's an obvious call up here. That is unless u think it's Furcal, I don't think Furcal is ready yet considering how long it took to even get to playing rehab games for him. Also Dietrich was optioned without a corresponding move being immediately announced, which is uncommon. If it's Furcal you think they'd announce it immediately. Also, it's not like Dietrich is so bad that he needed to be demoted. I dunno I'm just rambling trying to make sense here. We'll see what happens.
June 4, 201412 yr Actually I saw what Dietrich was hitting his last 130+ AB's. He hasn't been helping us offensively. Am not totally hating on the move, but since this move means Furcal is likely coming up I'm totally hating on the move. If it's Bour I'm excited, although I have no idea what purpose he'd serve other than pinch hitter (and leaving a hole at 2B).

They benched him for freaking Solano when he had the hottest bat on the team at the time and they have been very sporadic about when he has been in the lineup.
June 4, 201412 yr Quick thought, it could be for Furcal but the team hasn't announced it because they have to wait until he gets off the bus from Jupiter just to be sure he didn't pull a hammy on the bus ride. Definitely more possible than you think.

June 4, 201412 yr ya furcal is still in jupiter he will probably go to jacksonville before he comes here. i think it is valdespin for a few days until furcal is ready, this was just about getting Dietrich right in the field and improve his hitting a little. He never did AAA in the first place so i guess he can go down for a few days find his swing and get right in the field and then come back in a few weeks.

June 4, 201412 yr That's weird to me though. Isn't Bour basically just another Garrett Jones? Don't know about his defense though. Eh, his splits aren't as drastic, but it's the minors. Surprised they didn't go with middle infield. I guess we're sticking with Lucas/Baker for the time being.
