August 5, 201412 yr Had to happen. I like the kid but too many mistakes, not holding runners, a ton of 2-out runs....not good. I would also expect Flynn to be up until Penny's turn would come up. Penny has done well in AAA but lets pray for Alvarez to be back ASAP. I also do feel that he was rushed by the Tigers. Big time. He could have used a full season at AA or AAA.

August 5, 201412 yr Almost wonder if this was similar to Brantly situation. Sucked all year last year but Marlins kept him up under the pressure of Loria, if I remember right [beinfest wanted to send him down in May, if reports are correct] - didn't happen until August. I understand this wasn't as simple as just demoting Turner, but you have to wonder.

August 5, 201412 yr and as Dave Cameron from fangraphs noted on twitter, replacing Turner with Cosart seems like paying way too much attention to ERA.
