September 27, 201510 yr For being twenty below and eliminated weeks ago, how much fun is this team on a game to game basis right now? These games feel like the most meaningful meaningless September games ever. I hope that makes sense.
September 27, 201510 yr Haven't been watching. Think we all knew this team wasn't 25+ games under .500 bad this year but were a product of some front office decisions not panning out, injuries, poor management, and underperformance from key players. This team definitely needed Latos to work out and it didn't happen. I feel decent going into next season, but some crucial moves need to be done to the rotation.

Wishful thinking but I would still love to see a big proven power bat to go with Stanton and Bour (assuming he does not Ozuna next year) in the mioddle of the line-up... September 27, 201510 yr We went through April and May with Salty and Morse, and Yelich batting under .200. Now we have JT, Bour and Yelich back to normal. Quite a difference. No need to tinker with the starting lineup for next year. Just need starting pitching and some depth.

Only other real starting pitcher we could've gotten and failed at was James Shields, and even he was just ok this season. Just a season of unfortunate circumstances and poor front office moves backfiring. I'm still 100% behind Samardzija/Zimmermann, but I was also behind Latos/Morse/whoever else so my judgement can be suspect.
September 27, 201510 yr It's very possible that some of our guys are overperforming. I feel like this shit happens every year Little of A, little of B. We underperformed all year and we're overperforming now. When performing as expected I'd say this is a .500 to slightly below .500 team. Without an upgraded rotation, the team just reeks of average (Hell even with an upgraded rotation it still does).
September 28, 201510 yr I say go with the same lineup pretty much with a healthy Stanton, Hech, Capps. They just don't do well we these big signings/trades. Just stay low key in the offseason through the start of next season and see how it goes.
September 28, 201510 yr Author As frustrating as it can be during the offseason, I almost want the Marlins to be one of those teams that only makes a few under the radar offseason signings and then gets no hype at all but then every move works, everything clicks, and they go on to a beautiful surprise of a season.
