They should have upped it as they went....starting at $120 million...$135....$140 and left $150 as the max. "Listen Giancarlo sign for $150 while I go out and make this team a winner". Cliff Lee will never be the same, nor will Lincecum. Ive followed baseball all too long! Players do get washed up people. A team that claims to be cash strapped shouldnt spend 3-5 million on a project when they can spent 10-12 and get sure thing quality. "Bargains" add up!!! I think bringing Lee in on a 1 year deal is a smart move if the price isn't too high. Pitching depth is so weak and Lee has upside even if he doesn't pitch like a Cy Young winner.
