With relievers being big targets so often this offseason, I think it is silly for the Marlins to hold onto them instead of, for once, maximizing value. The team has holes a plenty, and bullpen arms are about the only position where there is any semblence of depth in the organization.

As poor as their starting rotation is shaping up to look like, they'll need to quite often build a bridge to game end from the 5th or 6th inning on with stellar relief pitching. I would not deal Ramos or Capps.

agree on ramos. disagree on capps. The value of an elite closer is well, quite valuable.. Capps can be that. Ramaos should be traded this off season before he degenerates cishek style

Yep. He sucks.

It's been mentioned before that Ramos might make a capable starter seeing as he has a three or four pitch arsenal.  If we don't acquire any SP upgrades, should the fish consider giving him a shot as a starter?  Thoughts

Definitely think Ramos should be shopped. Someone would overpay for him and if this team really thinks it's close to competing sometimes it takes a smart trade or two from your major league roster to get u over the hump. I think the Blue Jays have been a good example of this recently and even Oakland a few times over the years has proved this.

No, he struggles pitching multiple innings and I don't think his arsenal would work well the second or third time through the order. Actually, given the extreme time through the order penalty in Tom Koehler's game, I would love to see him made into a reliever, although at this point, he may be our ace.

I think my name in Spanish would be "Lorenzo".

Nope it would be El lonelio virginio meto fano.

Sorry that's mean!

yep. i'd be 100% on board with Ramos being traded for a solid return.  I do believe his value is at what will be his personal all-time high so please move him out for some other pieces.

It was mentioned by me, and yes, I think they should try it.

I'd trade Capps as fast as you can say his name. WHY? Because his motion will be made illegal this year, and that can throw off any pitcher when changing his delivery. What we can get back is yet to be seen, BUT I know it'll be a decent return for what he is. Although, I''d gamble, and see if we can do this come July, if we are ofcourse out of the running....

once again, MLB has already said their piece on Capps. If they were going to make a change for 2016 they would have said something else already. There's no way in hell they can make his delivery illegal without it affecting a shit ton of other pitchers. The only way MLB even glances at him again is if capps goes 60 innings in 2016 with a 22.5 k/9, 1.5/bb9 and sub 1 era/whip.

you dont want one of the best RPs in baseball to be the closer?

I mean, ideally no. You want him to be Dellin Betances, where he can come in earlier in the game to get the best part of the lineup out. I hate the idea of a closer, but it won't be going away anytime soon, so the best bet is to use your best reliever as a setup guy.

4, 5, 6 coming up in the 8th? Better use some random bullpen arm because I wouldn't dare use my closer! It isn't the 9th yet, silly! We have to save him for 7, 8, and 9!

Oh shit, now we lost because Mike Dunn gave up the lead in the 8th so our closer just got dry humped and never came in to pitch.

First of all they already ruled it to be legal last season.

Secondly, they would rule against it in the off season and not at midseason.  They haven't ruled against it this offseason and the GM meetings which is where they talk about the rules and changes to the rules already passed.  I don't see them doing anything against his delivery.
