He's even an acceptable #4, to be honest. I think people are underrating him a bit due to the idea of him being our #2 at one point. Realistically, if you look at his last two years, he's given us a durable high 3's ERA. I'm ok with him being in the back end of the rotation.

Yep hit the nail on the head. For a real playoff team Chen becomes a top notch #3 starter in the vain of Mark Buehrle. But here he's our #2, so we have to hope that he either stays a low 3 ERA guy he was last year or becomes even better and becomes a high 2 ERA pitcher. I'm not sure about trading Ozuna for a pitcher since I don't believe we'd honestly get a #2 starter for him and it would be fixing a hole in one spot by creating a hole in another spot. I'd prefer to trade Ozuna when his value is higher, but the team obviously seems to dislike him so I truly expect him traded before April and to trade him for a #4 starter who has potential to become a #2.

January 12, 201610 yr Frisaro says that the Chen signing means no Ozuna trade. If it's true, that's good. Our pitching is still a little shaky, but we're pretty good on the field.
January 12, 201610 yr He can only help so much but he is a very good pitcher, especially for our needs and our ballpark. I really wish we had a good long term 3b instead of Prado and one more quality SP and id love our team actually. The key to our year next year is obviously gonna be Cosart, Nicolino, and Conley.
