I understand that.  Correct me if I misunderstand the circumstances but wasn't his departure from Fox Sports as a result of pressure applied from ownership on Fox?

Loria and players reportedly did not like Hutton, due to his "negativity". Fans watching on TV liked Hutton in consensus, I believe. My take is that pressure was applied by the Marlins, not Fox. I could be wrong.

Thanks.  That's interesting.  I didn't realize those feelings among the Marlins trickled down to the players too.

I gotta say.. I was thinking it'd be closer to 10-90 instead of 34-66. Color me surprised 34 percent of people actually like that thing!

This is the same reason Steve Stone got fired from the Cubs, who is by far one of the best in the business. They were both doing their job and not blowing smoke up our asses. Amazing professional athletes can have such thin skin.

ESPN’s Sciambi ripped the Marlins on Twitter: “Classic Marlins letting [Hutton] go… He was passionate, prepared and had credibility, something that organization had very little of.”

A lot of us grew up listening to Boog as well on the radio. Seems like when Loria came in all those guys were let go. Wish they would have gotten rid of DVH. Guy sucks.

I still think TK was on the players complaining about Hutton.

Of course he was. He's a delicate snowflake. I wrote an article a few years ago about how Koehler would make an excellent relief pitcher and he got all butt hurt on Twitter about it and came at me for it.

I still <3 you TK

I like TK, he just needs to be able to take criticism better, whether it be from people on the internet or from his team's color commentator.

I'd love to have Tommy back but it would be a disservice to Hollingsworth who I feel is doing a good job. Maybe you make a way for Tommy to be involved someone how. The players are dickheads if they are that thin skinned.

i voted to keep it simply because it hasn't been announced with what it would be replaced with.  A waterfall area would be dumb since aside from shitty backyard pool waterfalls they dont exist in Florida.

How about a giant cuban cigar that blows smoke for every HR?   While they're at it let some blow waft down as well - it'll help energize the fans to make up for the smallish crowds.

1) I read some players would go to see what Tommy would say on TV in the clubhouse. Why were the players even concerned about commentating? They are supposed to be on the field or in the dugout, not watching TV in the clubhouse. Whose responsibility is this?

2) If you play professional anything, or are a success at anything, you will have "haters". Isn't the whole point of sports and success to prove your doubters wrong? Use the criticism (or truth) as fuel... Where is the competitive spirit?

3) I read that some players were told by wives, girlfriends, etc. what Tommy said about them and this upset them. Where are the parents (tongue-in-cheek)?

Don't know why Koehler is being made the scapegoat. Reportedly players were upset, not player. I can't find any names, but if a player was doing well, did not watch TV in the clubhouse during games, was single, had no family, they are likely not a possible player who complained. Personally, I think Loria had more to do with it, especially concerning ball park criticism. At Pro Player, criticism was fine because it's not even their stadium, it was Dolphins and Huizenga's, then Ross. IDK though, I mean, Hutton gave a shot out to the Clevelander just fine every game.

We have so many people that vote in polls but don't post. Come on people, join the conversations! Most of us are nice.

Ok that is the ugliest pos I have ever seen outside of a circus sideshow.

Keep it. It's part of the ballpark now and not that big of a deal.

Exactly.

I'm really anti-going back to the old way of everything.

Hey I have an idea; let's bring back the old dated uniforms AND see if we can go back to playing in the old sweat box we used to call home!!

No.
