I'd love it if they changed a lot of the green to the blue they used for the World Baseball Classic on the walls. That really made the ballpark look nice.

I actually hated that because it looked generic and blended too much with the blue seats. It was bland. The lime walls are bright and vibrant and pop when you see them.

I have no idea to say yes or no about this issue, but if new ownership will decide to remove it, I'll have no objection to it.

Guess im in the minority.  I love the sculpture, brings something unique to the ballpark.

All these cookie cutter ballparks are boring as fuck.

Be different.

Have no problem with the home run sculpture and definitely do not think we should go back to teal. Perhaps we should wear old jerseys once in a while but I have grown to like the new look and hope they will incorporate the orange hat more often.

I say keep it only because it would cost thousands to remove it. I strongly dislike it due to waste of electricity when animated but as motionless prop maibtainance isn't much use of resources. Keep it but turn it off.

We have so many people that vote in polls but don't post. Come on people, join the conversations! Most of us are nice.

I think you scare the children away

I would imagine that the new ownership group will want to change everything. The sculpture will definitely go, and I'd be surprised if the uniforms stay the same.

if they're taking over next season they betta start working on

If I purchased the marlins I would completely rebrand and turn a small section of the ballpark into a "blast to the past" displaying florida/loria miami marlins stuff/championships. I'd keep the championship flags, obviously. Everything else from the team colors to the homerun monstrosity would be radically changed. I would distance myself from the loria marlins as much as possible.

So I would either get rid of the statue asap, or negotiate it not being added to the ballpark during my purchase. Maybe I would have it put in the locker room to discourage my players from doing a few 8 balls and getting shitfaced and driving into a fucking pile of rocks with two passengers. Who knows.

Also, selling more merch would be nice.

I feel like too many people assume this and it could very well not be like that or at least not immediately. If I'm the new owners, I leave things the same and evaluate everything and over time change what needs to be changed. And priority is changing whatever needs to be changed to improve the on field product first. Things like uniforms and ballpark stuff should take a backseat for a while. New ownership should be buying a team to make a winner and not because they wanna knock down a sculpture or change cap colors. I compare it to when I bought my house 4 years ago. First thing I did was get new appliances and remodel an aging kitchen that was unusable. I didn't change the color of the living room walls until last month. I think the same analogy should apply to owning a sports team and fyi not just for the Marlins specifically but for any team.

I agree.  However I would give consideration to calling Tommy Hutton and seeing if he wants to come back on board (no offense to Hollandsworth).

Hutton didn't work for the Marlins.

Neither does hollandsworth in this gig.

I understand that.  Correct me if I misunderstand the circumstances but wasn't his departure from Fox Sports as a result of pressure applied from ownership on Fox?
