Exactly.

I'm really anti-going back to the old way of everything.

Hey I have an idea; let's bring back the old dated uniforms AND see if we can go back to playing in the old sweat box we used to call home!!

No.

As much as I love most of the old stuff this is my problem with it too. We can't just dump everything after 2012 and go back to the way it was. We are the Miami Marlins now, not the Florida Marlins. It is what it is. Any future changes should be made wisely and progressively, moving forward and not backwards.

How about some new thing that incorporates some of the old and some of the new like other teams have done?

I despise the HR sculpture and all of the lime green in that stadium. 86 it!!!

Don't know why Koehler is being made the scapegoat. Reportedly players were upset, not player. I can't find any names, but if a player was doing well, did not watch TV in the clubhouse during games, was single, had no family, they are likely not a possible player who complained. Personally, I think Loria had more to do with it, especially concerning ball park criticism. At Pro Player, criticism was fine because it's not even their stadium, it was Dolphins and Huizenga's, then Ross. IDK though, I mean, Hutton gave a shot out to the Clevelander just fine every game.

Tommy had been with the Marlins since 1997. If players really had an issue with him he would have been let go years ago. Tommy was transparent and said what needed to be said. Him and Rich were a great duo and even made blowout games entertaining to watch. What they did last year with the 3 announcers was a crap shoot. Holly is doing just fine now, but I would take Hutton back in the booth in a heart beat.

I remember hearing about the reaction that TK posted on Twitter when @SongInTheAir posted the article because I follow him. He's a punk for that. He wasn't the only one but he sure as heck is an obvious one. The sooner he realizes he is mediocre pitcher the better. Only thing he has going for him is health. I root for the team not the player. Tommy Hutton had a job, and if you as a player are getting paid millions and can't take the heat then get out.

I wish he would jump on the forum and say something about it too.

I'm ok with it overall, it's a cool concept. A la the Apple in N.Y and such. However I wish the new owners would just make it look more natural like dumb it down a little color wise. Not so vibrant and flamboyant. I'm aware that Miami is vibrant city and night life and all of that but it just looks so unatural  especially for something in a baseball ballpark. Even if that ballpark is in Miami. Besides there's still plenty bright colors throughout ballpark without one more over the top hideous eyesore that sticks out like a sore thumb. Plus there's still the bright walls and tiles down 1st and 3rd to give place color for all who like the color palette. It will be interesting to see the national attention the stadium gets during All Star Week. I'm sure we'll hear it all. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

I remember seeing the leak images on the net of the sculpture in 2011 , and I thought to myself I hope this is a joke, till this day I still think it's a joke. It doesn't have the feeling that says Miami, Marlins. I rather have fireworks or slide the Octopus on a slider, or even that stupid horn from the Rays on every DONG than that crap on CF

This is a very reasonable stance on the home run sculpture. I look forward to reading more of your view on this team.

Thanks I appreciate it. Just one mans opinion. Glad to be here

There are a lot of places to spend money and changing the home run sculpture isn't a top priority to me.  I would rather they get us starting pitchers, relief pitchers, closer, and oh yeah, batters.  And also not sure if it can be "remodeled" or removed because there was an art grant to pay for it ? ? ? ? ?

What will it cost to demolish that thing?

50k?

Big f'n deal.  Wont even buy you 1 start for a top half of the rotation starter.

All valid points which I agree with. Especially the starting pitchers comment. Starting pitching is putrid this year. Interesting point on the art grant. Sometimes things grow on you after seeing them for awhile. However the Sculpture has had a opposite effect on me. Thought it was ok looking at first and now I can't stand seeing it,all whimsical looking like a carnival ride or something. Not like theres the usual remedy of not looking at it.. since it's in practically every camera shot. Definitely other priorities should come first or new owners. Starting pitching, winning fans back and gaining fans trust and South Floridas trust and passion for the Marlins for first time in a long time. Those are things I'd much rather see of course. Maybe down the road though look at making that "Thing" more of a thing all Marlins fans and baseball fans alike can say hey that's not bad looking. Instead of only about 30% of fans that like it.

I agree that for me it has grown on me.  And for now there are many more important things like staff, players and getting fans back in the seats. Put the $ and time there.

This is very well said. Thought out and reasonable. A refreshing change from those who just want the sculpture demolished.

Still think it be awesome if they had an animatronic Marlin Jump out for HR's and not that eye sore.

I feel like this is what we or most people understood the sculpture would be like when the idea was first mentioned. What we got is like an abstract version of that idea.

Dude....chuckecheese style robot band of Billy's pals should pop up and play that horrible Marlins fly high song by Scott staaaaaaahp

I liked the "Everyone's Doing the Fish".  Some of the adults did it while all of the kids did it.  t times it was pretty hilarious.
