For the record I’d rather have the Mesas and Gaston than Lillie and Barraclough and whoever else we moved to increase our pool.  But this should be something we consistently do and not a one off to appease the Cuban fan base. I hope they sign and I think if we have to trade anything of actual value for more pool money it wouldn’t be unreasonable to question those moves. Yes we sold low on Barraclough but being able to get IFA $ for him is a pretty solid consolation prize if we get the trio. Dare I say we can eventually look at it as Claw and Lillie being traded for the two Mesas and Gaston? Not bad. Besides, would selling better on Barraclough have netted us a return better than Victor Victor Mesa?

I actually thought about this but if you give them the player they want its basically a perfect deal for the other team. A safer bet for them too. They're getting a player they want for money they were never gonna use. It's almost a free trade. The only team who would really deny us is Baltimore and possibly whichever team is right behind us if they still have interest in these guys.

I don't believe they would made these trades without any promise from Mesa's and Gaston's party,it just seems they give us some period of time to make our bouns pool money as close as to what the Orioles' money.
