rmc523
So seems like Sinclair isn't working with anyone? I didn't quite understand the fees someone mentioned earlier in the thread.
Das Texan
Sinclair is the devil as I have consistently said since they acquired the RSN's. They are cutting costs in terms of production. They are cutting fees they pay. They are wanting giant fees to show their content. Its an interesting dynamic if its only going to be available on Spectrum, or Comcast or x local cable provider and how much the demand would then exist and if that warrants people to return to cable companies and the type of deals they might be able to structure regarding consumer packages including RSNs. rmc523
So basically, they want to charge a fortune for TV/streaming services to show their content on there, and on the other end of the spectrum, they want to give the Marlins pennies to purchase their product (baseball). Sounds like a baseball team business model lately ?
SilverBullet
Sun Sports is affected by this too right? Can't even watch the Heat either now.

Admin
YouTube says they’ve agreed to an extension with Sinclair as they continue negotiations. https://www.engadget.com/2020/02/29/fox-rsn-youtube-tv-sinclair/
Michael
Ah that's good news then.
SilverBullet
That shows that they know this would be a significant loss but pardon my doubt until they finalize a real deal and not just an extension. If we were so close to actually losing it then I'm not convinced they're suddenly on great terms either. I hope something gets solved but I'll believe it when I see it. Feels like when you see a couple that decides to work on their broken relationship and they still end up splitting up.

rmc523
On a side note, will they still be called Fox Sports Florida/Sun? If they're not part of Fox?

MarlinsFan19
When YouTube TV says they “are no longer offering Fox RSN’s in some areas” they are no longer offering YES Network (Yankees), Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket (Angels), or Fox Sports Midwest (Cardinals). They will also not be carrying the recently launched Marquee Network (Cubs)

Admin
Losing those teams is going to cost them a lot of subs anyway.

SongInTheAir
So THAT is why his name is Das Texan? Wait what the hell? I thought it was Da Stexan. Like the slang form of "the" and then Stexan, like he is The Stexan, but street, so Da Stexan. Oh your god my whole world has been turned upside down.
