He can only report what he hears and is able to share. I can just about guarantee he doesn't enjoy looking like he's unreliable.

That said, Marte for Luzardo was kind of mind-blowing. It's not always a positive connotation.

I mean if they arent extremely active..

Either his credibility is in the toilet or he needs to reveal what he thought he knew....

Just saying

So lets just hope they spend some money and are active in putting this team together.

He has revealed what he thought he knew before. Believe he did so on his podcast or in a Twitter Spaces, one or the other, on trades that almost happened.

His podcast as well, like I stated, has some of this info. Just requires a little digging.

When the lockout ends, ST starts basically the next day right? So imagine the avalanche of moves that are gonna be announced in the 24 hours after the lockout ends because teams are gonna want all their planned roster moves completed right at the start of ST. There's no time to work on a trade or signing that takes 2 or 3 weeks to work out the details.

I can appreciate them staying up late to get this done but they wouldn't have to do this if they'd just shown this urgency a few weeks back.

I know, right?  Imagine that - actually negotiating back and forth gets movement toward a deal lol.

Mish says Marlins will be spending after lockout.

Let's hope so.

Really?  He's put it out there, just now where you want.

Why don't you send him a list of Das-approved locations he can post information since nothing else will do.

Yeah, basically sounds that way that things will start immediately, and that teams/players will pick up with whatever negotiations they'd had in motion pre-lockout.  Which could be good if you had something in the works, but bad if you didn't have anything cooking and were hoping to pick up some guys that fell through the cracks (i.e. other teams are ready to make moves NOW, not draw it out).

Trades would be "painful" to the farm system but getting a big player in return.

Could be at least two trades.

Do it.  They need to make moves and create a winner.  This is their last chance.

FWIW, Mish says Sherman wants to win and thinks he's going to spend money - maybe not astronomical sums, but spend.

He's also of the opinion that some things were done strangely like alienating Broward County for the last 4 years.

I want Mish's take to be true because it would be better for us, obviously, than Jeter leaving because Sherman doesn't want to win... but Sherman basically has to prove this immediately.

In this sense I'm very excited for the days post lockout.

He also said we'd make some mind blowing trades at the deadline so we'll see.

Just listened to the podcast. He said that Jeter had vetoed a trade. Maybe that was the one that he was talking about. Everything is a little clearer than yesterday. It seems like Jeter may have wanted to make a huge splash on a guy like Castellanos for $200+ million to save the prospects. Others in the organization wanted to trade prospects for star players. Mish says to not get attached to our prospects or everyone on the big league team. A big trade for a centerfielder. He also said that they would probably spend on a closer.

He did say that Jeter vetoed a trade and that Jeter preferred to sign big name free agent stars to trading for big stars. Maybe that explains the mind blowing trade that never occurred. Maybe it does now, now that Jeter is out of the way.

I've posted many bits of the podcast in this and the "stepping down" thread so I'm aware. heh.

Maybe. Or maybe Mish is trying to save face after that deadline went bust.

Well he is certainly doubling down now.
