Honestly, I think he has vastly improved professionally and has regained some of his credibility. He still seems to put more weight on being first rather than being right, and a lot of his "reports" are just guesses where he can later cover his ass by saying "I guess it just didn't work out". I'm still not allowed to use him as a source on any of the websites I write for, so that should tell you something about how he's regarded outside of Miami.

AND THAT is the actual issue with Mish end of day.

don’t think everyone is assuming EVERYTHING he says is 100% true.   But on the flip side, it also can’t be assumed that he’s totally wrong all the time either.

And I don't think anyone including me ever said that either.

It sucks to lose some games but I give the players credit for not caving in to the threats. A few lost games is not a big price to pay if the players get a better deal out of this.

I dont think owners seriously thought players would say fuck this.

Owners EXPECTED players to cave in the end, taking the owners small sacrifices and calling it a day.

Yea I wanted to say that too. Today probably shocked the owners and that was needed. Good for the players.

Now the question is how long is the delay for? When will they start talking again?

When MLB realizes they are fucked hopefully.

Such an awful look for the sport.

I give it another week.

No way you get this close on everything else and truly walk away.

Manfred: "We never used last, final, best offer, it was only for this deadline before canceling games."

Reporter (edit - Hannah Keyser): "So why would they accept the deal if they knew it wasn't going to be the best or last one?"

Manfred: (flustered noises)

I don't know. I feel like there's a lot of bad blood and animosity. I was thinking all along on-time start or a month-plus delay.

Did this really happen?

How long will it take MLB to recover from this?

I wouldn’t doubt this will end up in a WWE-like fashion where big name guys decide to leave the league all together and either form a new league or discussion with foreign or independent leagues about a mass exodus. I’d be all for it. I LOVE baseball. But I’ve actually grown to hate the evil that is the MLB.

Not sure we went from good back and forth progress yesterday to now going back to their respective "my way or the highway" camps it seems.
