Logically I think now that a pitcher doesn't hit, it is no longer a position in the sense that position players play offense and defense. A pitcher is a pitcher but is also a DH. A 1B is just a 1B.

What gives? Gets regular season games over quicker. For journalists allows them to meet their deadlines especially if writing for a traditional media outlet. When you are there 150-160 games a year, a long drawn out 13,14 et al inning game can just drain you. Really no need for those games in this day and age during the regular season honestly.

This rule is lame, and another shitty mark left by Manfred. I hope it's not adopted beyond next year.
