If we're a WIN NOW team then how could we TRYING something in the regular games ? doesn't matter because they may also TRYING Segura in the 3B.

Feels like with Abreu it was more about the years than the money. I think the money per year was comparable to the Astros.

Lately it sure sounds like they are trying hard to get a CF so that may be nothing more than a thought as a backup option. Not every news, note, or rumor means it's concrete stuff. Could literally be something they said once in a meeting.

If they're really still looking for upgrades then none of this positional talk matters now because multiple players should be added and subtracted in the next month or so. I'd really wait before thinking anything about positioning right now.

Jazz is in the lineup anyway so what they need is an offensive upgrade that can come from any place. CF was one of the thinnest talent pools which is gonna require trading from (and thus weakening) the starting pitching , while middle infield was crawling with options to sign. if switching him to center was an option then do that and sign a free agent infielder so you can keep your once in a decade group of pitching together and make a run. Then when you’ve filled the roster enough and you’re “one bat” away then you can bite the bullet and trade from the pitching. But that one bat needs to be a Juan Soto type bat that immediately makes a massive difference and gets you over the hump

You should probably practice a few times first at home in front of some friends and family before you set up in the outfield and perform.

Does anyone remember when 2B Alfonso Soriano played for the Nationals for one season in 2006 and they moved him from 2B to the outfield. And then he went to the Cubs the next year and pretty much remained a LF the rest of his career.

 

This possibility with Chisholm is giving me Soriano vibes. 😂

That is what you find out in Spring Training, its not like at this point you have any other viable options.

This is what they should have done LAST spring as I said then.  

More competent staff means they might actually do it this time.

Soriano was also a terrible defender and I dont think he was a SS by trade as well. 

BIG difference.

Also CF is not LF which is where Soriano went because its a far easier position to play than 2b.

I was more talking about the possibility of Jazz Chisholm being moved to the outfield and then remaining there permanently, at least for his Marlins tenure. Probably won’t happen but seems like something the Marlins FO would do, as it would solve their needing a CF without having to spend any extra money. 😂

 

And funny you should mention that Soriano wasn’t a Shortstop by trade. According to a 2006 article in Baseball Prospectus:

“Most of Soriano’s first full professional season for the Yankees organization came for Norwich of the Double-A Eastern League, although there was also a short stay for Triple-A Columbus. Soriano was a shortstop initially, but clearly was not going to move Derek Jeter off of the position once he arrived to the major leagues”

Hang on guys. I’m going to move Jazz to CF in The Show and let you know how it goes. 

Simple and clear, transfer Jazz to a CF and you have only Jazz, acquire a CF and you have Jazz and that CF.
