I don't think a 2 year deal is really an "all-in" type of approach especially for a team with a payroll that is crazy low as it is compared to the rest of MLB especially for a guy they supposedly really wanted. 

Now, I know that Abreu is not a 30mil per year player but at the same time - you kinda pay a premium to A. get out of the contract faster B. ensure you get the guy you want and C. show that you can go out and actually get the guys you want and convince them to play in Miami. 

I see an "all-in" offer more along the lines of what Werth once got or long contracts like what Turner received.  Being stuck paying a dude for a decade plus is more of an all-in type of scenario to me.  2 years? meh.  very little risk.

@TaiwanAstros is oft ridiculous, but I think some of you missed his point this time. Not offer 2/$60, but rather that the total value needed to be $60+M, likely over 3 years.
