Bruce is probably beating off to the thought of moving Luzardo and Arraez off the future books. I don't even want to think of how much a gut punch that would be to have both of them moved a year after they were arguably 1a and 1b reasons the team was finally competitive again.

I honestly don't have a problem making small moves and finding smart ways to improve the club. My problem is when you start trading away your best players to save a buck.  You're supposed to extend your young proven talent.  That's the whole point of a rebuild.

Hold up now. They haven't dismantled it yet - they just haven't improved it.

It's really sarcastic, we think this team have a "culture of winning " in the last season after have a "culture of losing " for many years and what happens now.

For what it's worth, the team should always be willing to "listen" to offers. Every team should be willing to listen to offers for any player. This is literally not news, it's Heyman needing something to write about and the Marlins are always an easy target.

Listening does not mean they're going to trade him. Likely it means, "bring us your best offers," and if the other team offers something that's really hard to refuse, then you start some actual discussions.

Holy crap no this is not true to anyone except you. This team hasn't been dismantled. News flash: we're not making any big signings this year. But this team made the playoffs last year and the team isn't too much different at this point.

@TaiwanMarlins you weren't even around after the 97 World Series or after the 03 team was dismantled after 05... I don't think you even really know what it feels like to have your favorite team actually dismantle a winning team.

Yea they definitely should already have locked up more guys. They did it right with Sandy, I don't know how they haven't done it with a couple others yet. Arraez should be an automatic, you would think Eury is a strong possiblity and maybe that's already being discussed... and I'd do it with Jazz too, even with his concerns I think he's good enough that you try it with him so that he's cost controlled.

As someone said above, trades WILL happen.  It's more that "people got raises, so we can't do anything else" is unacceptable for a major league owner, IMO.

We know she couldn't do two things at once lol, getting Burger and Bell was way more than she can handle last year, how can she be expected to do more!

With that said, in seriousness, if Kim was kept this offseason I'd imagine she'd be trying for some extensions now since she wouldn't be wasting three months on new front office hires.

Maybe "how would this offseason be going if we still had Kim?" is another discussion we could have?

Honestly.....she'd have waited until now to do anything too - it's how last year went.  We waited forever for her to evaluate everything.

Yea the free agency thing and the arbitration dilemma wasn't changing because those are Bruce directives. But maybe an extension gets worked out and some minor trades work out differently. There's no way we'd have gotten so many guys from the Rays like Bendix has.
