I guess?  But, if we're a serious franchise and we are truly trying to build a "sustainable winner " we extend Luzardo and Arraez as part of our core.  Anything else is just more of the same.

To not even bother touching base with him absolutely gives off "not even trying" vibes. How do you not even ask what he's looking for? They very much aren't shopping for any free agents outside of minor league deals.

I'm fine with not wanting to have three DHs on the roster.

Sadly, being a fan of this franchise since day 1 - I can totally imagine it.  = (

Winning would always be the by-product for the running of a professional sports organization, the difference would be some organizations invest big ( like the Dodgers ) and some invest small ( like the Marlins ). Winning would never be the priority in the world of professional sports, of course you would have the higher probability to have more wins with the higher investment and have the higher probability to have more losses with the lower investment. The most sad part is in MLB an organization would survive with only the revenue sharing and without any earnings from the tickets and merchandise.
