Only trade Luzardo for something that clearly improves us in 2024. That's it. Like Pablo for Arraez. But for the record I'm also in the keep Luzardo camp. Not sure if I'll be sharing a tent with anyone here though.

we need multiple pieces that'll help this year and beyond to trade him.

My cousin's best friends uncle said the Marlins may bring Votto as our new big wooden bat.

Why would he come here?  He's played his whole career with one team - I see him retiring before playing elsewhere.

The Athletic just put out an "as of now" offseason report, with a few categories:

-Priorities Achieved

-Making Progress

-Spinning Tires

-Still Salvagable

-From postseason to paralysis

-Where are they heading?

-Same as it ever was

 

 

They put us in the "from postseason to paralysis" section, mentioning how Bendix hasn't added a player of note, but that Burger/Bell help give us a compelling top half of the lineup, and an intriguing rotation even without Sandy.

If Votto plays anywhere else besides Cincinnati, it will be Toronto. Otherwise I think he retires.

Lucky we made the post season, else we would for sure be in the "Same as it ever was" category.

I’d only be ok with him getting shipped out if it’s for a Jeremy Peña/Andres Gimenez player. Something that REALLY sets you up at shortstop for the foreseeable future or you just don’t do it.

Much easier to find a number 2-3 type starter in free agency than it is to find a cornerstone shortstop.

Jeremy Pena is really not that good.

Also Gimenez isnt really a SS.
