As far as hitters, you still have Hoskins, Teoscar, Bellinger, Justin Turner, JD Martinez, etc.

But let's be honest: they'll probably just sign someone like Tim Anderson to a one-year deal and then he'll come over here and hit .190 and you'll never seen him in the majors again after 2024.

I will say that this FA crop was pretty crappy anyway, but it's not like it matters. The Marlins obviously weren't going to sign anyone of note regardless.

Only thing I will say, though is, I have a little more faith in the new guy regarding "scrap heap" players because of the Rays' track record of finding random players that become good.

do they really have a track record of taking old failed major leagers and making them productive though?

young prospect level kids sure.

but old established or really formally established major leaguers??

Some.......and certainly more than the Marlins.

Given that our track record is pretty close to 0-for-everyone over the last 10-15 years, I'd say it can only go up from where we are now lol.

Only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Jorge Cantu and Cody Ross.
