Derek Leave?
Derrek Lee hit 31 HRs with us in 2003. He hit 32 in 2004 with the Cubs. The park didn't seem to be that much of a factor.. 807705 in 2003, he hit 11 at home and 20 on the road in 2004 he hit 18 at home and 14 on the road 807725 In 2005, 10 at home and 7 on the road. Lee is having a great season but frequently talked about how he didn't like hitting at PPS, and if we kept him there would be no way he'd be a Triple Crown contender right now.

Bill Robinson mention in Sports Weekly
I don't know if anyone caught this or not but on BBTN last night, they were talking about Choi's game and weekend and Harold Reynolds credited Robinson with changing his stance when he played for the Marlins and being the spark for his continued development.

A Look Ahead
Correct me if I am wrong, with the exception of maybe last year, doesnt this team put together monster 2nd halves. 807678 We were on the way to having a good end of the season last year too until the scheduling caught up to us.

Props to Our Hitters Tonight
For how much money the Marlins are losing on Leiter, they are certainly getting their money's worth in Delgado. 806396 Word. Carlos has been worth every dime. 806405 isn't it great to see a guy performing up to his contract? 806436 I think we're making the Yankees jealous.

6/11 - Rangers @ Marlins -- 6:05 PM
No more perfecto! :arms :confused

Think there will be a game tonight?
Looks like the tarp is off the infield now but not rolled up, for what it's worth...

JP (or DP as some call) say there is lots of
losing is never fun 803480 Yeah, I couldn't imagine a team that enjoys losing 12 of 15. Winning cures all...

Trade Mota. He's been alittle bitch through this whole situation. He needs to be a team player. He needs to grow up. 803526 Thank you...if he's not going to accept his role and brings down the energy in the clubhouse you gotta get rid of him. Look at how well Jones has been closing out games, why would we not continue to use him there?

Lineup for Friday Night
Put Steve in the damn lineup somewhere. 803275 I concur. :thumbup

Our hitters need to go on a Jihad against Texas
I think we should put one of these in the lineup...or maybe make it the hitting coach. Hiroshima University associate professor Idaku Ishii has developed a robot able to cope with some serious fastball action, able to hit a pitch coming at speeds up to 300 kilometers per hour. We?re pretty impressed with this, considering we routinely strike out during heated Engadget Whiffle Ball matches. The robot manages such uber-skilldom by instantly analyzing the imaging results from its precision cameras to determine the balls? trajectory, then whammo, socking the living daylights out of it (that?s the technical terminoloy, honest). All of which is part of a plan to replace all humans in the sport of baseball with either mechanoids or cartoons, saving the industry millions in salaries and legal fees. link Let's really shake things up. :thumbup

Cabrera
He hit it pretty good after they walked Del with the basses full... 802193 And to the opposite field no less...I'd tend to say that a line drive going the other way is a sign that things can't be going too badly for him at the plate.

Interest in Perisho...
As a strategic move, maybe we should just ship him off to the Mets, Nats or Braves FOR FREE!!! 802059 And then he'll come in to face Carlos in games down the stretch...yes, I'm very fond of this idea! :thumbup

ESPN Crew
I was making fun of McLemore while watching the game but honestly, I would've been okay with 2 screaming ten-year-olds doing the commentary as long as we won the game, seeing how we've played lately.

Valdez Update
Hope he's doin alright...can't have too much pitching, really. Random: I think Valdez in my MVP dynasty has the exact same injury, also caused by a line drive. Freaky.

D-TRAIN
I voted 18-19, but hopefully I'll be wrong and he gets a bunch more than that.

Marlins Shuffle Bullpen
wasnt velrio de los santos with the Tigers or something? 800612 Brewers and Blue Jays I believe...don't remember him with the Tigers.

2003 Marlins
Throw in the spark we got by bringing back Niner, who came up with all of the clutch hits and defensive plays against the Phillies, the team we were battling with for the wild card. (And of course, his assist to Pudge who hung onto the ball and finished off the Giants.)

JB MIADICH
Dude is absolutely destroying people in AAA. I'm a bit surprised he didn't get the call today actually.

BAD week in florida sports
Marlins on losing streak, they also dont get Graves, and Heat lose chance to go to the nba finals. Whats next? They bring hockey back. It cant get any worse in florida sports right now. :banghead 798812 Hey, no reason to hate on hockey here...the 100 or so of us who miss it have taken enough abuse the past year.

De Los Santos. Bentz called up???
Yeah I'm shocked that De Los Santos got the call. Why still no love for Miadich? 798856 Seriously, dude. Also, where did this guy hear about Bentz and De Los Santos being called up...haven't seen it anywhere. 799150 I don't know where he heard it, but Butchy's been right on several occasions about different minor league transactions. 799152 Yeah I mean, I'll believe it...doesn't surprise me in the least that there would have been a bullpen move, and Bentz I would have expected anyway cause Perisho has been awful.

Photos from the DC Series
Well, technically all Nationals fans are bandwagoners right now, so they really aren't hardcore yet. When you leave the stadium most of the traffic tends to be southbound, so it's pretty obvious most are from the northern Virginia area. I bet a lot of them haven't even been to a baseball game before this year. What do Oriole fans do for the National Anthem? 797823 Everyone in the stadium shouts "OH" at the beginning of the line "O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave." It is incredibly stupid. 797857 That's not exclusive to Orioles fans. We do it for basketball games in Cameron but I'm not sure why, exactly...

Mota is in Jack's Dog House
And he needs to talk to JP, because if he doesn't want to practice, then we have problems. He has to be willing to work. 798522 JP is widely regarded as the hardest-working player on the team...first one in, last one out, he goes out and rolls the ball all over the infield when he goes to a new park to see how the field is going to react to a bunt. I'd be extremely shocked if suddenly he's not willing to work anymore.

The McKeon Record
He was even manager of the year in 1999, but that didn't stop the Reds from feeling he wasn't getting it done in 2000. 797285 I vaguely recall part of the reason for Jack's dismissal from Cincy involving Jr. I could be wrong but I remember something about that. 797290 Yeah I think they didn't get along and also the front office thought that the team should have made the playoffs after they signed Griffey, which of course they didn't and haven't.
