1. HAHA i was just going to post this topic! Hooray Orestes...Where's he been all this time? Good to see one of the original Marlins around.
2. Val sucks, he really, really sucks! Thank god he is gone...we only need Villone though he hasn't been as dominating in the past few games as when we first acquired him.
3. What is it going to take for these players to learn (major and minor leaguers alike)?! I am definetly a fan of upping the amount of games suspended for first offense...say 50 games first offense, whole season 2nd offense...somethings gotta be done, I don't want to see another huge star the likes of Raffy (except for maybe Bonds) go down.
4. was at the game tonight, no one realized it until he pulled it off what was going on myself included. Good job Mikey for heads up thinking in a crucial situation. :thumbup
5. Bull Dykes Scare me :ban Very nice pics :thumbup
6. Treanor did fill in nicely though tonight, glad to see him stepping up until Lo Duca can get back in the lineup. Hopefully he can keep it up for the next few games. :thumbup
7. With D-Train's second half woes appearing again and the possibility ::knocks on wood:: of Josh getting reinjured is it plausible that the FO is thinking about holding on to AJ in order to keep the rotation as solid as possible to make a run at the division/wildcard? If so is it worth it to keep AJ or do we get what we can now? What does everyone think?
8. Screw Orioles, get more from someone else willing to pay...we're trading AJ and someone who could be reliable in the pullpen once called back up for a bunch of prospects...we dont need Steve Kline either. This deal smells like s***!
9. I say forget it and just keep what we have...trade AJ but enough of this Lowell bulls***! Trade AJ to someone else and f*** the Orioles...they keep goin back and forth like a dog chasing his tail, they don't know where they are going.
10. I'm still holding my breath on this season but my face is turning a little bluer each day we don't change. Marlins are more then capable of doing this...if the right moves are made and this team can come together once and for all and stop being "consistently inconsistent"
11. do not trade Mikey! Good players adjust and find new ways of doing what they do best...Mikey will find his swing or create a new one that will get his bat back to where it's supposed to be. Mike is one of the best defensiver 3B in the league in my opinion. Like it's been said before Lowell has played his heart out for this team and to drop him that quickly would be a disgrace. If the front office is that insistent on trading Lowell it better be if that team is taking all of the salary otherwise there is no point. DONT TRADE MIKEY LOWELL!
12. millar would be an awsome addition to the clubhouse, could bring the fun back
13. I seriously doubt this...
14. http://minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/st...milb&pid=430971 This should take you to his stats...not bad but i'm not terribly impressed
15. Guess I'm stingy. I don't want to give up Reed! 864711 I'd say we'd have to be willing to if we are going to get rid of Lowell's underperforming bat and his financially stifling contract
16. Deal in the works? Jul 19 - According to the Palm Beach Post, Mike Lowell is expected to be be packaged in an A.J. Burnett trade. A deal, likely with Baltimore, is nearing completion, although a three-way trade between the Marlins, Orioles and Pirates surfaced late Monday. In a straight-up deal with Baltimore, the Marlins would send Burnett, Lowell and Triple-A outfielder Eric Reed to the O's for reliever Jorge Julio, outfielder Admin Bigbie and pitching prospect Hayden Penn. In the three-way deal, the Marlins would acquire pitcher Mark Redman from Pittsburgh -- along with Penn, Julio and Bigbie. In return, the Marlins would send Burnett to Baltimore and Lowell to Pittsburgh. The Pirates then would send first baseman Daryle Ward to Baltimore, and the Orioles also would acquire Reed. The Marlins would be responsible for a large portion of Lowell's contract, which has $21 million remaining through 2007. Any deal with the O's will include Lowell, whose price tag has scared away several teams. The third baseman is in the first year of a three-year deal worth $25.5 million, and the Marlins likely will be responsible for some of the money. The Orioles were figuring out how much of Lowell's contract they can absorb, and their chances of signing Burnett long term. Burnett will be a free agent after the season. The Marlins also spoke with Toronto and the White Sox about a Burnett/Lowell package, but neither team was willing to take Lowell, who said his agent, Seth Levinson, told him "the talks are for real." I like this deal because it will get us a solid starter to take Burnett's spot in the rotation and we would be able to keep Penn in our system...do we want to take on part of Lowell's contract though to get it done? :confused
17. AGon should definetly be resigned, best DP combo in the bigs without a doubt
18. Is this the last week of the McKeon era...is tomorrow night the last time AJ will pitch for the fish?
19. Is it possible that the reason why the FO may be focusing on this trade so much is that there isn't anything else better out there? :confused
20. sounds like a good deal $$$ wise. This should be done though ONLY if we can't get a new stadium. DS is getting the job done but half ass...we need a new one first. After all other options are exercised and there's NO WHERE else to go do we consider this deal.
21. For you Coral Springs folks there's one on Royal Palm and Coral Springs Drive... Does it work in Gainesville? There's TWO Cold Stone's within 5 minutes of campus! :cool
22. Has anyone noticed that there are only 7 teams above .500 in the NL right now? (The entire NL east and the other two division leaders)
23. I still think we should try for 3-way deal and work it out so we can get a guy like Javier Vasquez 844110 Are the D-backs willing to deal Vazquez if they are in the mix for the west division? I'd kill for Javy
24. we don't need the wild card we need the division
25. Helluva game, if he doesn't start in Detroit something is terribly wrong. He has had the most impact on this teams record then any other pitcher has had on their respective teams records. 5th CG, 4th shutout...i don't think any other pitcher has had that dominant of a season thus far
