  1. Well, so much for Gaby starting...
  2. Pujols for Boni and move Cantu over to 3B You know out of all the dumb things to say in this thread, this one takes the cake. I mean, I can't even believe that you would be serious with this suggestion. What makes you think that we'd EVER trade Pujols for Boni?! LMAO. Oh that's priceless. CLEARLY the better and more realistic deal would be Andy Gonzalez for Pujols. Duh.
  3. 4/24 - 7ER 5/23 - 4ER 6/23 - 3ER Man, if he returns, we really need to stop using him on the 23rd and 24th of each month...
  4. Not sure when he will start in the minors but can you please include the recently acquired Luis Ayala who will be going to NOLA? Thanks. Keep up the good job.
  5. Does this mean Sinkbeil has been converted into a full-time reliever?
  6. DFA Sanches who is basically worthless. I stopped reading when I got to this. Do you even watch the same freakin' games we do?! OK Sanches has a 1.37 WHIP but he has a 0.59 ERA. Jesus some people on this board astound me.
  7. If my calculations are correct... Fri: Pettite vs. West Sat: AJ vs. JJ Sun: CC vs. Volstad Wow. Saturday's game will be awesome, for many reasons.
  8. The role of a closer is quite overrated. I really can't be bothered going into it. I will say this though - I have a man-crush on Kiko. He's having an outstanding season. That and he has a freakin' sweet name.
  9. You are not allowed to trade draft picks in MLB. :lol /thread
  10. I'll take 7 IP, 2 ER thanks Ricky. Thanks. Too bad this offense stinks.
  11. I'll take 7 IP, 2 ER thanks Ricky.
  12. In his 2nd game Stanton went 0-3 with a walk and a strikout. Bum. Release his ass.
  13. I wonder if he will be called up this weekend, or if he'll have another start. I guess it depends on how West does tonight.
  14. Since there are so many threads I figured we could condense all Nolasco talk in here until he gets called up again. From Rotoworld: Ricky Nolasco-S- Marlins May. 28 - 4:17 am et In his first start since being sent down, Ricky Nolasco allowed three runs over eight innings for Triple-A New Orleans. He was pitching at Las Vegas, making the outing more impressive. He gave up six hits, walked two and struck out seven in the complete-game loss. Nolasco is expected to make at least one more start before being recalled. Not a bad line considering it was in Vegas. Hopefully he has another dominant performance next time out and returns to true form before being called back up. We need him to pitch well.
  15. Saturday, May 23, 2009 Game Time: 7:10PM The Florida Marlins (19-24) -vs- The Tampa Bay Rays (22-12) Sean West (0-0, 0.00 ERA) -vs- Jeff Niemann (4-3, 4.97 ERA) RADIO: WAXY 790, WAQI 710 ----- Scouting Report Rays: Niemann had his best performance of the season on Monday against the A's, lasting eight innings while allowing three earned runs on eight hits while walking none and striking out three. It was his second consecutive strong start and a good sign for Tampa Bay, which is expecting a lot from its 6-foot-9 No. 5 starter. Keep in mind, though, that Oakland is near the bottom in almost every offensive statistical category this season. Marlins: Sean West, one of five first-round picks in 2005, will make his big league debut on Saturday against the Rays. The 6-foot-8 left-hander is 4-2 with a 4.85 ERA at Double-A Jacksonville. In 42 2/3 [/b[innings, West has 50 strikeouts and 22 walks. In his last outing, West took a no-decision while allowing one run on three hits over six innings, striking out six against the Carolina Mudcats. The lefty will face a potent Rays lineup that flexed its muscles on Friday night. Tampa Bay tagged Florida for 15 runs en route to a series-opening victory.
  16. Just sacrifice a game and have Cody pitch a couple of innings...
  17. I love how people say Pinto is terrible... but he has an ERA of 1.23!!! OK his WHIP is probably bad, and I do think he's been overworked again which could mean he's due for a 2nd half collapse... but I think we should give him a liiiiiittle bit of credit for the way he's performed thus far.
  18. His E.R.A shot up to 0.51 too. What an overrated hack.
  19. The Marlins haven't won a game since I joined. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. I had no idea this would happen. :pray :nailbite :ban :thumbup
  20. Great ... Jamie Moyer ... just who we need to face right now ...
  21. Quotes from an AP article. Lindstrom: "It?s a deflating feeling, especially for the guys that worked so hard the whole game, to come in there and blow it. This is going to be a test for me." Fredi: "It?s a good learning experience for him. You can?t walk runners in the ninth inning." JJ: "It happens. You don?t want it to happen, but it does. He has been great for us. It?s not fun to see, but he?ll be back tomorrow and ready to go." :confused
  22. I read though that he was purposely pounding the strike zone as the Tigers staff weren't really concerned with his stats, they just wanted him to try and throw strike after strike (which he was mostly able to do), so that would probably explain the low K numbers / earned runs as he wouldn't have thrown that many balls off the plate for them to chase.
  23. Line-up: E. Bonifacio 3b J. Baker c H. Ramirez ss R. Gload 1b D. Uggla 2b J. Hermida lf C. Ross rf C. Maybin cf A. Sanchez p
