Brian Sabean is a dumbass...he traded Liriano, Joe Nathan, and Boof Bonser (who was second in AAA in strikeouts last year) for a worthless, clubhouse cancer, poor defensive, hacking catcher in AJ Piershitski Not to be confused with the World Series champion and quality hitter AJ Pierzynski he isnt considered one of the best defensive catchers in the league or nothing. not like we have any good catchers either, why take a smack at AJ?

I think they need some sort of player that can play CF or another middle infielder before another corner player. Helms is essentially Branyan to this team. If we are ignoring trading for Gathright or other younger players, and the idea is to find more cheap fixes, I believe Willie Harris would come for playing time, and so would Terrance Long or Jeff Davanon. This is what I would imagine for a depth chart C: Willingham / Olivo 1B: Jacobs / Helms / Willingham 2B: Harris / Pokey / Uggla / Amezaga SS: Pokey / Hanley / Amezaga 3B: Cabrera / Helms / Uggla LF: Aguila / Willingham / [Long/Davanon] CF: [Long/Davanon] / Harris / Aguila RF: Hermida / [Long/Davanon] / Aguila Most typical lineup. Notice all of it alternates. Harris L Willingham R Hermida L Cabrera R Jacobs L Aguila R Long/Davanon L or Switch Pokey or Hanley R Harris isn't amazing, but the last two seasons he has averaged about a .340 OBP and has speed. Atleast he would be a semblance of a real leadoff hitter, and be able to play 2B/CF, the two biggest weaknesses on the team. With another middle infielder, you put less pressure on Hanley to play right away also, and you can throw Andino into Double AA to learn 2B. Long/Davanon do good things also. They for one, take Eric Reed or Abercrombie out of the OF equation, which makes me very happy. Two, they are both competant MLB players at a minimum and create competition/backup for Aguila, Willingham, and Hermida if they go through prolonged rookie struggles. I think both these guys are solid platoon OF. Don't think that I believe them to be solid starters. Creating depth and getting experience is a big plus. They have no outfielder that has ever played MLB for more then 150 AB. WE DONT HAVE WILLIE HARRIS, TERRANCE LONG OR JEFF DAVANNON?

Love, Baseball ur dumb. this isnt a bad signing at all. it gives them the freedom to switch people around. gibbons, millar, conine and lopez all now are 1b, lf, and rf options. i like the signing and millar is one hell of a character to have on a team. not this will do anything for baltimore what so ever when it comes down to it but good for them.

Why does this matter? Todd Jones had ONE good year and hes been around for like 10 so it doesnt matter. hes going to flop next season in detroit and we all will laugh about this. oh and maybe another reason is because JONES is like pushing 50 now and the roster average age is 23, we obviously just wanted to go younger. Jones is gone let it go.

wasnt this ALL ESPNS FAULT... they are the ones that did the comerical or whatever with him the ncaa has great rules and i like that the players are exposed..i mean theres never been a problem with a player in a tv comerical and now this year espn f*d up. im glad that he got reinstated bc it wouldnt be a game without him but this was all espns mistake ncaa did what the rules stated and the rules are fine.

I have no faith in Andino or Wilson. I was hoping if we were going to keep just one of our veterans it would be Castillo, but I guess not. That's just the thing, I don't either. We're better off getting Ramirez to play SS, and resign Easley as our full-time 2Bman, with either Andino or Wilson on the bench to fill in for him occasionally. i dont think easley wants to sign around here, unless the contract is for 10million. id think he would wanna go make 800,000 somewhere and have the chance to win. its gotta be some new minor leaguer.
