"Moneyball" Is a Garbage Hollywood Misrepresentation
I watched about 20 minutes, didn't like it, and stopped watching, so i don't know how much the fudged the facts but if they did I don't understand why they would do it. I thought the beginning was one of the most interesting parts, all the dramatized behind the scenes scenes. What didnt you like about it? I mean for a baseball movie, something your obviously would be interested in, I don't feel 20 minutes of the movie could give you enough time to form an accurate opinion. It's not like your watching date movie or epic movie or some junk like that. I don't think the A's scouts were the retards they were portrayed to be.

Pujols Slump
It's time to be worried. By now it's a really good bet he'll have the worst year of his career.

Ozzie Promises Drastic Changes
How much does April mean? In 2011 the #Marlins had their best April in franchise history going 16-9. The team finished last in the NL East April games mean as much as games any other month. I bet teams that begin the season 0-0 have a much better chance of making the playoffs than teams that begin 8-14.

W-INFANTE
So how do they calculate this? LD%/PA's? Thanks, again, for the lack of clarity, ESPN. "Hard-hit balls" is rather vague. ESPN has people watch games and the watchers track all kinds of stuff including this. They talked about this on Baseball Today today.

Ozzie suspended 5 games
What do the marlinsbaseball.com Cubans feel about his comments? I don't care. Part of the reason people leave Cuba is because they can't say certain things. Some come here and don't let people say what they like. It's ridiculous. I don't have a problem with him saying he loves Castro. I have a problem with him loving Castro. It just comes down to what kind of a person you are whether his love of Castro bothers you or not. BTW, I'm not Cuban.

The killing of Trayvon Martin
It seems to me Zimmerman can claim self-defense. I don't know why Stand Your Ground is even being discussed. I'm guessing here, since I don't know the state of the law; but, normally self-defense typically requires a reasonable response, which may not include using a gun to someone who appears unarmed, even if said person is physically assaulting you. Conversely, the Stand Your Ground law might more easily allow the use of a gun in such situations. Stand your ground law shouldn't apply either since he directly ignored the police operator. Per the leaks, Zimmerman was walking and Martin came-up behind him and asked Zimmerman if he had a problem to which Zimmerman replied no. Martin then told him now he had one and punched him in the face knocking him to ground and then got on top of Zimmerman and continued beating him. If anything Zimmerman was retreating just prior to getting attacked.

The killing of Trayvon Martin
From the police leaks, there are witnesses that saw Martin assaulting Zimmerman and there’s evidence such as a bloodied face and stains on the back of his shirt that makes it seem as if Zimmerman was getting assaulted. And over 70% of the people think Zimmerman should be charged. People = dumb. I wonder if Martin had some blood on him too. Other than the bullet hole I mean. If someone is assaulting you, and you have a weapon, you should be allowed to use it.

The State of the Marlins' Rotation
Johnson: 2.85 (less than 200 innings) Buehrle: 3.75 Sanchez: 3.60 Nolasco: 4.50 Volstad: 4.80 I think we see something like that. I hate to be a pessimist, but I highly doubt Johnson gives a full season of work, which is something that the "rotation is fine" people don't seem to take into account. You can only comment about what we see on paper. With JJ, our rotation is fine. Even with Volstad as our number 5. No. Nothing happens in a vacuum. In assessing the preparedness of the rotation for 2012, Johnson's health status needs to be discussed because it is a legitimate question. Baseball games are not won on paper. We live in the real world. You can't predict injuries, to be fair. Before the season begins, all we have is paper. The paper I'm looking at shows his injury history.

Blog about the Marlins Signings
I don't know what type of money / years Carlos Beltran is looking for but he would be a good addition. The team is improved but it looks like a mid 80s win team with two holes in the rotation an a hole in the OF. By 2014 if JJ is healthy and pitches like a star and LoMo and Stanton get better then it'll be extremely difficult to keep the team together unless they spend about $150M or maybe more so they need to win big in 2012 or 2013.

Miami Herald
It's been that way for quite some time. If you don't like it, don't read it and get your Marlins news from other media outlets. There's nothing wrong with critiquing products or services one uses.

2011-12 NFL Thread
well if they can kick a 58 yarder here we're headed to OT. and of course it's good. If Denver made the 28 yard cheap shot FG earlier they would have won.. amazing stuff.

Cody Ross?
Best chance Cody has of getting $18m is asking Danny Uggla for pocket money. He may get it or at least close to it if he finds a GM that swears by Fangraphs.

Volstad
Both Nolasco and Volstad have to go. On Volstad improving, he was 7th worst in ERA+ in '10 and moved up to 5th worst in '11 so good job there.

C.J. Wilson to Angels
Not taking significantly more money is a sign of poor judgment imo. Yeah its very heart warming that he wants to be home and all that. But giving up that kind of $ shows he doesnt understand his own value. Just my opinion. Suck it up not being home for 6 years. If I had more money than I could ever spend and have enough left over that after I die my family will be set to live comfortably then I would live where I want to live.

Anyone else pissed that they're likely not going after Fielder sim
Josh Johnson Mark Buerhle Anibal Sanchez Ricky Nolasco 1 more pitcher I don't see why we need to unload Nolasco if the $ is obviously there. I mean yeah, 9MM is a lot for a #4 or 5 starter. But still, I could easily see Nolasco with a 3.50 ERA next year and wouldn't be surprised. A guy with career ERA+ of 93 is a hole and in his case an expensive hole. He needs to be upgraded.

The two biggest holes are Nolasco and the 5th starter and that's where they should spend the "Pujols" money on.
