That celebration at the plate was so fun to watch, you know they feel great to finally be on the right side of one of those. I hope Girardi will allow them a celebration once in a while... :mischief2 Fantastic job by the pen today. Really making a statement there. :thumbup Olsen was a little shaky but did give them 5 innings & at least he wasn't walking people. Cabrera showed up HUGE tonight. And how about Helms starting the rally in the 9th? It's all good tonight! Let's go for the sweep tomorrow!

May 24, 200620 yr I know this is the Cubs, but could we be seeing a turning point in our season? The last 20 games have been so close and they seem to be finally correcting alot of the mistakes that plagued them early on. All I want for my birthday is a sweep of the Cubs! :thumbup
May 24, 200620 yr its no secret this team should improve as the year goes on. i think anyone who seriously felt this team would be that bad all year long needs to have their head examined and get a new understanding of this sport especially in regards to young players at this level.

Young team wants to win, and are not content with just going through the motions. Thats as exciting as anything. Good job kids, you deserved it.

Well said, I think what people are/were fering is when will that turnoround happen not if. And if it happens in August it won't be the same result. But we have seen signs that we can be a lot better. We just need to put everything together and that takes time with young guys. But you can't beat the way young guys celebrate this wins, for last year's team it would have been another win but for young guys it is like everything that happened before is erased.

Sorry to disappoint you but the Cubs aren't scheduled to be in the playoffs again until the year 2083.
