geemoney
Nothing like a good ol' flamewar on a Saturday Night: http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/9621719 (sorry, don't have cut and paste abilities with this comp.) Basically, Treanor is skeptical about the 30,000 att. number of tonight and said South Floridians should be ashamed of not supporting the team more. He also says the amount of opposing team fans that get seats irks him too.

babaru
if he wants to pay for my tickets then ill go every god damn day. but until then he should shut his f***ing mouth. Besides the fact that I love this team more than anything, why would i spend $120 dollars on half way decent seats that give me neck spasms by the end of the game because i have it turned at a 90 degree angle for 3 hours, then 7 god damn dollars for a freaking beer, etc. I can honestly say there isnt another franchise i like more than the Marlins, but these players(anyone who speaks out against the fans) have to take a look at the situation... then speak. WildMarlinMan2003
This gets old...we all know Miami has treated the Marlins poorly....they seem to like the Dolphins much more. Marlins are 4 games out....we should have more fans there.
DelGOT2Rings
If I were him, I'd be ashamed of his .208 batting avg. I think I'd be OK with a player like Miggy or D-Train saying something...but not Treanor.

WildMarlinMan2003
Yeah, he should have just not said anything....I mean the winning streak should be what he's worried about. Well, you don't need MVP box seats. Some of the best seats in the house are upper deck and fish tank. What, do you not want to slum with us fish tankers? While I agree that some of the seats have horrible and uncomfortable viewing angles, I doubt they cost that much and I've found other portions of the stadium to be nice and extremely cheap. The Marlins actually offer some pretty great ticket plans and if I lived in South Florida I would utilize them.

stefanodemais
We did have a good fan base ..... up to 1997. If anyone remember, if you are old enough anyway, (or can find the stats online for attendance) you will remember that the stadium had always a decent amount of people until the first fire sale. The town just never regained trust on the management. Not even the 2003 WS helped that much.
Eddie Altamonte
Damn 30,000 for the Brew Crew...Trea should be talking that it was awesome for the turnout not rippin the fans this time...It is lucky that some faithful fans remain at all with the shafting they had been given...Not us we love our baby marlins! Agreed. I already wasn't a big Treanor fan. He must of called Burnett on his cell. Oh no wait, Burnett sucks too. Maybe Burnett paid him some of his 11 mil to say that. More reason for me to like Olivo. He should know (after being in the minors for 1,000 years) that most people have to work during those weekday games or just cannot make it because of work. I try to make it to as many as my wallet allow.

fauowls44
While the attendance last night was alright, if not 30,000, probably in the 21-22K range, I can't argue with what Treanor says. It must be at least a little frustrating to be playing so well as a team and then come out on most nights to so many empty seats. Everyone on this board knows the reasons (or excuses depending on how you look at things) so to go over them again is just a waste of time. It just sounds bad coming from a backup catcher who is hitting .219, though that doesn't make his points any less valid.....sports fans in South Florida should be supporting this team.
