LetsG0Fish
GREAT WIN! Great Job Scotty! :notworthy Good to see the O and pitching all clicking on the same night. If the Mets hang on we will be leading the division by 1 1/2 games :hat
Marlins2003
The only really disappointing thing was giving up those two runs in the eighth after Olsen was relieved...increased his ERA from 3.62 to I think 4.61.

Hotcorner
Little bump in the 8th when they tried to stretch him out a bit, but we'll forgive him those last two runs that scored off Gardner. Great, great outing for Scotty. Just the fact that he was able to go 7+ innings is huge. Really looked in control tonight. That is the kind of step I would love to see him take this season. As far as Jacobs, maybe it's just been his stretches of up and down health, but when he's on it seems like he's bashing doubles and homers in bunches, then he cools off. Like I said, maybe it's health related. Anyway fun to watch when he's on. Nats announcers on the 2nd home run: "Here's the 1-2 pitch to biiiig strong Mike Jacobs"..... (*crack*) "And just how big and strong is Mike Jacobs?! That one's in the bullpen!" Good nights from all the bats really, Treanor, Uggla, Hermida, on and on... Let's go for the sweep! Metalmilitia931
2 homers for Jacobs tonight. Looks like he's getting in a groove.
FishFF
Good pitching. Good to see runs not all via the hr. Cantu with his first long ball, and Jake is killin it. Olsen took a page outta Willis book and was working fast but effective, nice to be able to pitch with a huge lead. Oh and welcome back Hermida

The_Godfather
Great job by Olsen. We needed those 7.2 innings.

Erick
Positives 1. A win. 2. Scott Olsen pitches 7.2 innings. HUGE! 3. Badenhop looked impressive in his ML debut leading up to Sunday's start. 1, 2, 3 9th inning. 4. Situational hitting...pleasent to watch (or hear...which was the only thing I could do tonight). :banghead Negatives 1. 2 errors in 1 inning...need to avoid those as much as possible (btw, this makes Scott Olsen's outing more impressive. Could've probably gone 9, if it wasn't for 2 errors making him throw about 20 more pitches). 2. Olsen gets charged with 2 extra runs (Gardner, quietly, struggling, early on). :mis2

FishFan9703
Good win overall. Hermida with a nice first night back, Jacobs showing power, and finally we get a good starting pitching performance from Olsen.
Admin
Great job by Olsen. We needed those 7.2 innings. Don't think the bullpen could have handled any more strain even after the off day.
industrialescampeon
Sweet win, good job all around, minus a few defensive miscues and Gardy's relief work. I say we go for the sweep tomorrow.

Rabbethan
Just finished watching a replay of the game. Good stuff. Nice to see Scotty almost go 8 and give our guys a quality start. it funny how masn guys say how national is still good team their did not gave us cedit for winnng the game It didn't seem to me like they weren't giving us credit, but that they were blaming their pitching for throwing badly when we scored. We all do that. When one of our pitcher gets beat up, no matter how great the hitters are, we blame our pitching.
CYmarlins
Olsen deffinately got the job done, helping out the bullpen and turning in a very solid start. Jacobs just keeps knocking them out, and it was good to see Hermida back and contribuiting right away. Makes that lineup just so much deeper now. Sucks that we made those 2 errors but we were at least able to make up for it later on. key thing is that Olsen didn't let it affect him. anotherrealfan
:raining SWEEP. This is a family joke-when the marlins first came into existence and were about to get their first sweep over the pirates, i believe, I brough out the broom. So the next time there was a sweep opportunity, my wife did not remember it was a broom, so when I said sweep, she said "bring out the umbrellas" instead of brooms. Well, we think it is cute-so too bad.
Hollyberry
The Marlins are not even on Sports Center blah. I have been watching for 1 hour and zippo.
Trey05Marlins
The Marlins never get any love on SportsCenter. The only time I remember significant coverage was for Anibal's no hitter.
upstatenyfishfan
Olsen stepped up big time, we need him to keep doing this all season, kinda seems his performance got lost in all the jacobs hoopla, and probably rightly so. Hopefully this is Scotty break out season........ Anyone else getting excited about mid summer getting a few starting pitchers back?

We do get significant coverage when we trade a Miguel Cabrera though. :lol BTW, why aren't you in this thread?
